Hello Newman!! Just bought my '07 VTX 1300 C on Wednesday (July 9th) and took it out riding this weekend up into N. GA. I was a solo rider, felt lonely with all the groups riding around, figured I would hit up the web and see if there is an owners club, well here I am.

Not terribly new to riding, been using a buddies shadow 1100 for rides, but wanted a horse of my own. I am single and most all the time up for any riding I can get into. Found the GA owners calendar and hope to make it to the VORTEX, and will be on this forum often to find out about rides people are putting together.

I am located in Cumming, GA just S. of Lake Lanier. Looking forward to meeting everyone at the Wednesday and 2nd Thursday meets!

Welcome aboard Rob, You have found the right group to help you spend money on your new ride. Before you order a bunch of stuff, though, show up at the rides and meets and see what everyone else has done to personalize their bikes. It might save you some mistakes in the long run. You will also learn a lot from the General board and the 1300 board. Hope to meet ya one of these days.

Rob,
Welcome aboard. Good folks on this forum. My wife and I were over your way on the 4th of July and ended up in Flowery Branch at a BBQ place called Old McDonalds. Pretty good Q.
Hope to ride with you soon. Enjoy the new ride.

Welcome to the Zoo.

Ditto what OC said. Many of us have dumped $ in our bikes to make em ours. Sit on a few, listen to some pipes, engage in some shop talk before you buy any after market part.

Look forward to riding with you soon.

Welcome Rob!

You’ve come to the right place.
We like to ride in groups and we also like to ride solo.
We like to ride where ever the road takes us.
Some of us even like to ride in the rain and
Some of us will even ride in the cold… (that’s below 45 degrees folks)
We like to ride to eat and we like to spend our money on bling.
Call us a crazy bunch and we don’t care.

Thank you all for the prompt and gracious posts. I am really looking forward to getting my stock ride up to the standard of all X Riders!! I will take the advaice anyone has to offer on what is good, what is bad, and what is preference for the bikes.

BigT, I will be out of town on business this thursday, day trip to Waycross, GA (Should be riding my new horse, but have to drive the SUV instead). Please issue a raincheck on that.

Being that my toy is so new, I was throughly depressed when it started to rain today... Still have to work up the manparts to ride in the rain!

Riding in the rain, is just........well.... Wet! and I don't like it much either..

Cleaning her up is time consuming, but part of the fun of riding in my opinion... also gets you into the nuts and bolts so you can see how it works...

Look for the RTE's.. (Ride to Eat) Lots of socializing and in my opinion, some of the best riding...

of course, I like to eat :chef2:

Welcome to the madhouse..

Ride Safe,

Ride often...

Riding in the rain actually feels pretty good when it's hot out. Kinda' like climbing the rope in gym class feeling.
