Made it back from 2 weeks in the sun and fun. Daughters boyfriend wanted to ride down on his motorcycle (87 virago, 535). Couldn't let him ride alone so the family twisted my arm to ride along with him. His could only go 60 miles on a tank of gas, 9 stops and 8 1/2 hours later with 5 of those hours in pouring down rain. Only took 4 days for my jacket and boots to dry out. Anyways, another 1,000 on the X and finally made the 20,000 mile club. Did a little cruising up A1A minus helmet (just to say I did). The ride back was great, no rain, very little cloud cover. That should hold me 'til the return trip in September!

I've made that run a number of times.

I usually take 100 just north of Lake City and go down thru Starke and Palatka and cross the St. John's R

Its all 2 lane and is welcome after the long trip on the big flat top.
