Hey all!!! Johnzz here :) . It's that time of the year again. This year's "Ride for Autism" is scheduled for Sunday, September 21st, 2008. Awesome turnout of riders last year! The ride begins at Wildfire Harley Davidson in Villa Park, Illinois and ends with a huge after-ride party at the Addison Village Complex at the intersection of Lake St. & JFK Blvd. You may register either via mail or online at: http://www.autismspeaks.org/ridenow and click on the link for Chicago.

As some of you may know, my 6-year old son Mac was diagnosed with autism a few years ago so along with my participation in this special event to help find a cure for autism, I am also riding for my son Mac. He along with many other children diagnosed with autism deserve that much and more. It would mean so much to me to have many of you on this great board ride alongside me that day. I'll be updating this thread every now and then with additional ride info when I get it. Thanks for your time, mark your calendars, ...hope to see you "ALL" that day!!! 8) 8)

What time does the ride start? I will be coming back from a camping trip Sunday morning with my sons, but I live in Villa Park so if I can get back in time I will try to make the ride. There is a good breakfast restauraunt on the other side of North Ave by the Harley dealership, and a nice custom bike shop too. LMK.

John...I was all set to join this ride and my wife was even saying she'd ride with me, when we found out that our great-niece is being baptised that day. Still, the baptism isn't until the mid-afternoon (I think) so maybe we can join you for the ride and skip the after-party. Anyway, just want you to know I'll still try to make it for this worthy cause. Steve

Johnzz and DVS...at TWT last night, a decision was made to meet for breakfast at 8 AM at the Sunmist Restaurant. It's on Lake St. about 1 or 2 blocks west of Rt. 83 and is only 5 minutes away from Wildfire HD. Why not join us there?

How long of a ride is it? If it aint long enough then we need to get some more miles in since its gonna be a nice day. It almost sounds like a parade going from Villa Park to Addison.

Well, I just wanted to send a HUGE THANKS to all of you who came out today for the '08 Ride for Autism!!! Once again this year's ride was an enormous success with approximately 1800 registered riders, not to mention the other couple hundred riders who were not able to register and just came along for the ride. Every year this special charity run seems to get bigger and bigger. Now they are talkin about setting up a state-to-state Ride for Autism combining neighboring regional states. Can you just imagine the turn-out of riders say for example if Illinois, Wisconsin & Indiana got together for a Ride for Autism charity run? Unbelievable! Once again, on behalf of myself & my son Mac, THANKS TO ALL for taking the time out to ride with me this year and will definately look forward to next year's '09 Ride for Autism!!!!! God Bless!!!!! 8)
