I know that many have been looking for another day to ride together.

I've been having to put plans off almost every weekend because of constant work schedule changes. That's the downside to working for someone else.

Just for info purposes at this point, but the Nashua Texas Roadhouse has a ride on 8/2. Breakfast, Lunch, raffles, music, etc. You know the drill. I've attached the link for anyone interested. Not sure if I can do this one. I have the day off but am still on the fence.

On 8/10, LauriesRide is scheduled and starts at Nashua Harley. Liz and I have done this one for the last 2 years. It's a great ride with a catered lunch and motor officer escort. www.lauriesride.com (http://www.lauriesride.com) This is a definite ride for me.

Both rides are a little pricey but they are fundraisers.

I would love to spend the day on the X and do the Kank ride. Btalon had PMd me about it.

Once again the Post Office has found it fit to change my work schedule, so I'll need to keep my Saturday ride a little closer to home. Let's hope for all of us that rain pattern takes a day off.

Just got back from going to camp for a few days, was a good time, 6 miles in the woods, no electricity, running water, phones, etc. - the wheeler died though, something burnt up under the steering and it died in it's tracks, towed it back and trailored it home to fix it.

I'm planning on the 2nd to ride up the kanc - anyone else firm in their plans to do that ride?

Too bad I'm stuck at work for the next 3-4 weeks. I do have time off the weekend of the 10th but going camping with the wife. Hopefully another Kanc run will happen in Sept or Oct. It's always nice to do the Kanc at fall foliage time. We definitely need to have another good run like in June. Maybe we should start planning it now.

For me, it's changing constantly. My dayshift has ended and am now back to going into work at 5:30pm.

Looks like I'm a definite for the Texas Roadhouse Ride on 8/2 and will not be doing the 8/10 ride.

Well, it was a little cloudy and gloomy at first but the sun fought it's way through. The rain stayed away maikng it a more enjoyable day for the Homes For Our Troops Ride. They announced that about 500 people showed up for the event.

With a police escort and the local towns police blocking intersections along the route, it was nothing but a clear shot to Seacost Harley. The Texas Roadhouse BBQ, live music and line dance competitions kept the crowds entertained.

On a more serious note, the cause was to raise money for our troops who had special needs for housing. The group has built their 35th home and have another 70 under development. One of their most recent builds was for a returning soldier that lost both arms. Unbelievable dedication to a special group of people to be able to give what they do. These kind of things really put some of our little aches and pains into perspective. God bless of military!

Steve,
Glad you had a good ride and a fun day. I'm anxiously awaiting the end of shutdown for some time off. I do have a week off next week, but got to get some camping in. Linda and Rick are renting places at Hampton Beach for the week and Elvie and I are camping close by on Route 1. We figured on spending a little time with them on the weekend.

Hey guys,
I'm out of any group rides until mid-September. We're in Maine every weekend. I'm hoping by then the sky will be out of friggin' rain.

Sorry to hear that Dave. We are trying to get something together for either the 6th or 7th of September. I'm sure if you can't make that one, we'll probably try for something during foliage season. Ilona and Walt suggested a Vermont ride during the foliage season in place of a Kanc run. I'm hoping for both. Keep in touch.
