KY VTX Riders Patch?

I was just looking at another site and saw VTX riders patches for individual states. Is there one for Kentucky?

If not, it might be nice if there was one.

I havent heard of anything like this for us. That is one reason i wanted to get a Ky forum going. There seems to be a lot of interest from the people here in Ky. Maybe someone can talk to the other guys and find out who they had make the patches. Ill ask a few questions and see what i can come up with...

Where may I see the CA patch, link please? Have you seen www.dawgscyclegrafix.com (http://www.dawgscyclegrafix.com) he has a very nice VTX patch, wonder if he could design a KY VTX patch. Just a thought.

There are a few states ith the same patch, i will contact someone and find out who they got to do them. See how many people are interested and maybe get a run of them done.

Thoroughbred X Riders, Bluegrass X-tremes, anything with its own theme. I have been trying to conjure up something in my little feeble mind. Any Ideas or anyone with graphic talents?

I have pm'ed Tapper to see how the Texans went about getting their patch. I have to agree that it needs to be original to the state. Bluegrass - racehorses - :idea:

I sent an e-mail to the California group requesting information about their patch and who designed and made it. No reply as yet.

I agree... KY's patch needs to be tied to our state, horses probably?

I emailed DAWG and he said give him a few days to come up with something. I am really looking forward to his work, hes got some great looking patches. This was a "Real Rough Idea Sketch I sent to him."

I really like that one! I am sure DAWG will come up with a good idea as well. That patch will cover both of my passions,,,Horses & Bikes. I happen to have both. I raise Tennessee Walking Horses. Thanks for coming up with that idea KyHillBilly.

Well here is a ROUGH DRAFT So I can get some feed back.

Realize a few things.

1) This is a rough draft not a finished porduct.
2) do not start requesting a lot of "Photoshop effects", They may look "Cool" on a computer screen but don't transfer well over to silk screen or embroidery. (unless you want to spend some big money)

I can only speak for my personal tastes but I would prefer Riders instead of Owners.

Is this a screen print for t shirts? Or can it be made into a vest patch?

Any idea what it will cost in each version?

Cool, That is the type of input I am looking for. As for screen Print vs Patch, That is for you to decide. Right now, it is a Prelim Draft. Where it goes from here is up to you.

I guess the V-Twin design belongs to the manufacturer and God knows we wouldn't want to copyright infringe upon this great corporation and its overly enthusiastic marketing department. So I guess its off to the etch-o-sketch room to draw something. There are just SO MANY options for VTX riders. I'm just so glad that I am a wanna be Survivor Cast Member, or else I would have to settle with the "Tribal Thingy Designy."

It seems we are thinking alike, I would like to see the horsehead facing right to left and in a design similar to the tank emblem. I'm seeing either a red or chrome color and the mane of the horse head would " flow back like the tank emblem. Also I like the idea of the motto being Bluegrass VTX Riders.

Like that motto also! But I just had a brain fart. We'll have to be real careful not to get too close to the Ironhorse emblem. I've seen too many of those.

I'll take a digital picture of the opposite side of the engine and try some etch-o-sketch-magic on it and see if we can get someone to design it up if there are enough takers. I just believe we can get a really unique design or even 2 or 3 to put together on a t-shirt, patch, sticker or hat. If nobody takes enough interest...then so be it.

Can't wait around on the producer of this machine to take any initiative.

I don't think it hurts at all for us to kick around a lot of ideas before we find some concensus.

I agree completely about the overused Tribal thing and also getting too close to the Iron Horse look.

It wouldn't hurt to have the overall look a bit more edgy and a little less of the KY Horse Riding Club look, if that makes any sense?

Leave the horse off, and just put something like the mask logo of the VTX. I am not very artsy, but I think if you guys keep kicking around some ideas you will come up with something. The horse thing can be overdone. We really do not want to look like a horse club (nothing wrong with horse clubs, I have been in plenty of horsey things,,,I own horses). But we are a bike group, and I think that a bike thing would look better.

I am sure your ideas haven't offended anyone. We're all just kicking around ideas and yours fit right in.

You may well be right about the horse and overdoing that theme. Like you, I like the Bluegrass VTX Riders logo idea.

If we all keep kicking the ideas around we'll find something that appeals to everyone.
