As some of you are aware, I've only had 1 ride in over a year. I can't express how enjoyable and pleasureable it was. However, I completely ruined any additional rides for probably another year. Yesterday, I fell off a ladder (about 6 feet high) and broke my left wrist. It's still swelled up and there's vry little movement without intense pain. Needless to say, I could never squeeze the clutch, and much less pull the bike up from the kick-stand.
The ladder was wobbly, and I knew I shouldn't have climbed it, but being a guy....I ignored all of the risks.....LOL Well...At least football season has started, so I'll still have something to do on weekends. Hoping to still make a few bike nights with everyone. As many have stated.......the Washington VTX'rs are the finest group of people that anyone could possibly know and be associated with.

You are right, 08 has been a tough year for us as well as alot of vtxers. We have had some crap happen as well and well its been tough. Although part of the tough stuff turned out to be a good thing. The hardest was a couple weeks ago. So I too will be glad to get 08 over and done with. 09 is going to be awesome.
We still have a few months left in 08 so everbody just stay safe no matter what we are doing.

Hey, Rob. Sorry to hear about the fall. Glad you are doing okay. You're a lucky man - it could have been your neck instead of your wrist. Hope you'll be back on the bike for next year. Have a good off-season. We'll probably see you at a meet some time this fall/winter. 8)

Thank you everybody for your comments and concern The accident was due to the laziness of taking the proper precautions that should have made. I have a hard time accepting that I can't do the things that I did 25 years ago......... Again, Thanks everybody
Oh....and Todd. Yes, I do use my right for the purpose that you are referring to. However, if I was left handed....I figure I could just turn my shorts inside out..... :a13:

Glad you still have your sense of humor Bob!
Next year will be better, get well you we'll see you on many rides to come!

IHOP............
Afterthe past year and a half, it seems that my sense of humor is the only thing that I have left ......and even THAT's shaky at times........LOL
Todd..........
You have to stop leaving the door open for me. You make it way too easy. But ..................by using YOUR hand qualify as assistence? :a13:

Hope ya heal up real quick with a minimum of discomfort.
This whole left hand vs. right hand debate brings up some unusual comparisons...
If I write with my normal hand it's fairly neat and readable. If I try to write with the other hand it looks like a 2nd grader. Be grateful your right hand is still available for everyday 'uses' you take for granted. Otherwise your shorts could show evidence of poor penmanship.

In the mean time you can get an ATV with an automatic transmission. You can still ride!
