Herr's Bike Night

As promised to the X-Riders that met in Trappe this month, here is the info on the Herr's Bike Night, August 12. Go to the site listed below, and scroll down to the Bike Nite entry.

Last year was their "1st Annual Bike Night", and there were THOUSANDS of bikes there. Lots of eye candy, and free food (donations to MS are accepted).

Herr's is located at the interstection of U.S. Route 1, and PA Route 272, just a few miles north of where Route 1 crosses the PA/MD state line. Take the Route 272 exit off Route 1, and the entrance to Herr's is right across the street from the WAWA at the traffic light. The entrance to Herr's is also the entrance to Nottingham Park, a Chester County Park.

Click on the link I included in the post and scroll down to the Bike Night screen. It is a lot of fun. Yes, the roads out here are great for riding. Gotta watch more for the wild life and grass clippings, and then the cars.

I've ridden by that place many times! I usually stop at that Wawa for gas, coffee, sandwiches, when I'm out riding that way. I'll have to check it out.

It all depends on if my brother gets his x at the end of this month ,if he does I'll be heading to ohio to meet him for a ride up to lake erie on his first bike ride . If he does'nt feel good about ridding this far I'll be there

About our monthly Meet-N-Greet:
Yes, I should be able to make that one, too! August is a shut-down month for my normal Minister's Monthly Meeting, to allow for the pursuit of summertime recreational activities of one's own choosing, of which this is one, indeed!
Who knows; I may even get my wife to join me 2-up if things work out as I plan. I'll have to see if one of my older daughters can watch my 6 y/o son.
But definitely, one way or another, I'm expecting to be there!!! :D 8) :lol:

No, you are going about this all wrong. These three dates are not RIDES. They are just MEETINGS that you are using your bike to get to. Carlisle is just a "trade show". Right?

Great!!! The show starts at 05:00pm so I think it would be good if we meet at Wawa between 04:00pm and 04:30pm. The show is just right across the street from the Wawa but meeting a little early will allow us to meet and greet.

Any other thoughts??

:D Hi guys, I know you haven't heard from me in a while, but I've been really busy, and the Herr's night, that date is the day i have to take my daughter to Atlanta Georgia. I'll be off that day, so I'm going to come to the Herr's show to meet up with you guys, and then after the show, I'll just go to Atlanta. If anyone wants to meet up at 202 and rt. 1 to go down to Herr's, just give me a time of when you're going to be at rt. 1 and 202 and I'll meet up with you to ride down to the bike show. I'll see everyone then, have a good time.

That would be "Hannum's Harley-Davidson". It's a stone's throw from the Hooter's where we met for lunch. You would continue south on Rt. 1, cross over Rt. 202, and it will be on your right, just past the Friendly's.

Maybe I'll meet you guys there, too.

Trust me. It will be about dark-thirty by the time you leave Herr's. If it's anything like their first bike night last year, there were THOUSANDS of bikes there, free food, plenty of great people to talk with, etc etc.
I'm just sorry I can't make it, but Pat is looking for a ride there!

Don't sweat the parking....the staff at Herr's direct you where to park. The WHOLE place is full of bikes, the cages park elsewhere, so there's nothing but bikes around the Herr's plant. They park rear-wheel-first toward the curb all along the roads that circle the park. If you've ever been to the Christmas light display there, the parking of bikes is all along the roads that are used for the Christmas displays. No one gets blocked in, it's easy to get out no matter where you are parked.

That's good :D I was at hooters and well they parked bikes 4 deep so unless you knew the guys in front of you then you were stuck until they moved man that was a mess....this was the hooters down on rt 13

Looks like the 30th is the most popular date. I'm in a little trouble, because Pat is a bit upset that she can't come along 2-up (because of her doctor appointment that she waited 2 months to get), but she's getting over it.
I'll post more info on the beach ride in the appropriate message thread later this weekend.
Hope you guys enjoy Herr's....I'll be in Cooperstown.

rode out to the herrs plant today. it was a nice ride other than a rough section of rt 1. I took rt 41 out of prices corner, that will be more direct for me. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
The little lady wants to come along she likes to ride.

Well, I would think it be better protocol to meet next door at the Friendly's. But, Hannum's won't care if you pull into their lot. I doubt that I'll be going, unless the forecast changes. I don't mind getting caught in an occasional rain, but Herr's is an hour each way for me.

Gonna have to pass on Bike Night due to weather. Been caught several times this summer in heavy ran wasn't fun.
