Its been a while since someone has posted a ride. I'm in Anderson SC. Anyone interested in going on a day ride one Saturday. We all post telling others if they wanna ride gimme a shout, but it doesn't seem like that pans out.
I don't have any area in mind or any date in mind...so anyone up for it & got any suggestions?

I'm open for a short ride this Saturday. Let me know if you wanna get together.
Also, I'm doing a ride with the Southern Cruisers on Saturday & Sunday, October 4-5 up to Maggie Valley.
I'm open for a Saturday ride. Actually, I'm open for any day except Sunday. Of course, I realize some people have to work. Sorry, couldn't resist. Need to know a day or two in advance. Wife has some health issues right now, but none to hold me back. A ride in the mtns. maybe Saphire Valley area or Pisgah. Whatever, I just want to ride.

How does Saturday, October 18 work for everybody?

The 18th should work for me also. I'll tell David about it tomorrow at work & see if he can go. I know there are some others here from the Upstate so hopefully they can go also.
As of now, count me in for Oct. 18th.

David can't ride on the 18th. I do however have 2 others & possibly more than can ride on the 18th. They had suggested going to Chimney Rock & Harry had suggested Saphire Valley area or Pisgah, so it really doesn't matter.

Sorry you can't make it Michael. We'll think about you when we're ripping up the twisties..
What does everybody think about this route: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=G ... 30469&z=10 (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=Greenville,+SC&daddr=Farrs+Bridge+Rd%2FSC-183+to:Farrs+Bridge+Rd%2FSC-183+to:US-178+to:NC-107+to:35.431722,-83.08342+to:Blue+Ridge+Pkwy+to:E+Main+St%2FUS-276+to:Greenville,+SC&hl=en&geocode=%3BFZ9dFAIdhroU-w%3BFd49FAIdclAT-w%3BFVDIFwIdNFcQ-w%3BFYAaGAIderYL-w%3B%3BFaopGwIdLgoO-w%3BFR6ZGQIdTKIR-w%3B&mra=dme&mrcr=0,1&mrsp=5&sz=14&via=1,2,3,4,6&sll=35.435638,-83.093376&sspn=0.037623,0.076904&ie=UTF8&ll=35.183911,-82.916565&spn=0.60385,1.230469&z=10)
We'll have to leave early because it will be an all day ride. Or, we can come up with something shorter if need be.

I don't understand...were you talking to me? I will be there, its David that can't make it. :P
A couple other guys we ride with regularly are planning on coming also.
As to your route...I don't see anything wrong with that. If we do need to shorten it up, we can always take 64 from Brevard to Rosman but that might take too much off of it.

Sorry bud, I thought you were saying "David, I can't make it" but now I get it.
There are several ways to shorten up the route if we need too.
How does 7am work for a meeting time? Maybe at Stax Original for breakfast around 7 then leave around 7:30-7:45??
It have all day, so whatever ya'll want to do is fine with me.

There is a motorcycle museum in Maggie Valley NC. On November 30th, they are closing the museum & moving it to AZ. I want to go there before they move. What do y'all think of stopping here on the 18th.

Its $12 adult to get in. Its not that far off the loop that Dave linked. If time's a constraint, maybe we could take an alternate route to get to Maggie Valley & have time to tour the museum.
thoughts? :beer3:

I'm actually going there this weekend. But we can go on the 18th too. There's some great roads around there.

It was just a suggestion. I noticed that Maggie Valley isn't far off the route you picked out. I want to go to that museum but I can do it some other time. If its only me that wants to go then there's no need in changing the route.
If others want to go however, I'm down to go. hdog...you got an opinion? Is anyone else from here or anyone y'all know may going?

How about this route? Should give us plenty of time to do the museum and still get in some good twisties and the parkway.

For some reason that route link won't work. I can see the points you put in but it doesn't show the particular road we're going to take.
There will others with me. I know I'll have 2 others with me but possibly could have 5 others with me. I'm still waiting on answers from them. They wouldn't mind going to the museum either but I hate to make you go twice so close together.
We're really down for anything. I'm just glad we got a date set. We might not be able to meet you at Stax at 7am though. We would have to leave Anderson at 6:15 to get there. I'm going to talk to them to try to see if they want to meet for breakfast or everyone do their own thing.
From Anderson to Maggie Valley...Greenville is out of our way a good bit & that's not a problem its just meeting at 7am in Greenville may be a little too early for some of them.
We've still got a couple weeks to get everything ironed out so please be patient. I'll pm you my cell if you'd like if it would be easier to talk over the phone. :D

Hey all,
Sorry for the delay. I have now joined the "computer has crashed" club. I finally got it back on line, but don't know for how long.
I'm up for a visit to the museum in Maggie Valley. I want to see it before it moves. Any route is fine with me.

Ok, talked to a couple of you today and this idea seems to work.
Ride to Maggie Valley on the 18th and go to Wheels Through Time
Meet(for the Greenville folks) at the Shell station on the the corner of N. Main & Stone at 7:15 am the ride to Pickens for breakfast at McDonalds.
Meet(for the pickens/anderson folks) at McDonalds on Main Street in Pickens around 8am
Here's a nice route for the ride up. Should put us in Maggie Valley around noon.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=425+E+Main+St,+Pickens,+SC+29671+(McDonalds)&daddr=NC-215+to:Blue+Ridge+Pkwy+to:Blue+Ridge+Pkwy+to:3000+ soco+road,+maggie+valley,+nc&hl=en&geocode=FbJLFAIdgAYS-yF-JofXf71FIA%3BFUFNGgIdU8oO-w%3BFdasGwIdBI8N-w%3BFZoZHQIdOnQL-w%3B&mra=ls&via=1,2,3&sll=35.50554,-83.074837&sspn=0.037591,0.076904&ie=UTF8&z=9
And maybe this route for the ride home. Then we can split up once we get to Cleveland.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=3 ... 30469&z=10 (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=3000+soco+road,+maggie+valley,+nc&daddr=cleveland,+sc&hl=en&geocode=&mra=ls&dirflg=h&sll=35.3147,-82.737175&sspn=0.602873,1.230469&ie=UTF8&ll=35.299435,-82.799835&spn=0.60299,1.230469&z=10)
Be sure to bring some warm clothes. We'll be at elevations over 6000 feet.
How does this work for everybody???

Sounds like a plan. I & some others will be at the McDonald's in Pickens at 8am.
Of course anyone reading this & is thinking..."I'd like to go to the Wheels Through Time Museum" is more than welcome. Post here so we'll know to be looking out for you & arrive in Pickens for breakfast.

I know I'm on the wrong board, but.... If you guys do head to Wheels Through Time on the 18th, reply to this thread. I might be able to get a few together from East TN to head over there and we could all meet n greet at one of the best moto museums while it is still local. Might be hard to coordinate a time, but it never hurts to try....
Maybe we could get other VTX state people to try to hit there on the 18th as well... Make it a big bash for the afternoon.
