Good prices on VTX in MS?

I've seen a lot of threads on different boards about VTX 1800s going for $6999 in other states. I'm currently riding a Volusia and would seriously consider trading it in if I could get an X for that price. Does anyone know if that price is available withing a day's driving distance?

I don't know of anywhere in MS that is selling them that cheap. I bought mine from DeSoto Honda for 9500 out the door. I thought that was a great price so we jumped all over it.

there is a honda dealer in laurel, i cant remember the name but when i was looking for 4 wheelers thet were way cheaper than anyone else.

I first went to North Jackson Honda/Yamaha to look at the bike. I called the sales guy back to tell him about the deals I've been seeing around, but he wouldn't go lower than $10,000. I ended up calling around the state; first to Brookhaven who wanted $8300 for a black retro cast, second to Natchez who wanted $8100 for any 03 1800. I ended up ordering an 03 VTX1800 Retro Cast - Red for $8100+7% tx+title=$8812. It should be in at the end of this week or beginning of next week.

Now to sell my Volusia.

Bah. I wouldn't deal with these guys at all. I went in there one day looking for a Shadow Spirit of which they had none in stock. The sales guy there seemed put out with me. I asked if they would give me a call when they got some in. They never EVER called. I called Honda of Laurel a week later and worked the deal over the phone. Great people to work with. Traded that same bike in at Laurel of Honda and got my 1300C there. I would recommend them to anybody. The lead mechanic there really knows his stuff too.
