If this is true, I hate it although it was probably time to go. Coach has been great for UT but you gotta win when you coach a program like that.

...... In deed it is a sad day. I hope the BOO-BIRDS are happy now. Fulmer has been a great coach for Tennessee and has an outstanding record. Now we'll have to go through the trial and error system like Bama and the other schools have gone through in order to find a good coach. I personally think they should have fired all the players (except Eric Berry) and kept Phil. :badabing:

Looks like the players are sticking up for Coach and I'm glad to see that. I wish I could give Fulmer a big hug. I played against him in high school and also met him in college. Just an all around good guy and nobody has ever worked harder and enjoyed it more. We are losing a lot.

I'm happy to see a change, if they could keep him recruiting they may be the powerhouse they should be. With talent they have they should be undefeated. I hope we don't have to go thru trial and error like some of the other teams.

Last week……the BOO BIRDS were singing on Rocky Top!!!!!
They sang loud…and…they sang long.

They were singing that the money might stop…….
If the……"PHIL"….didn't sing their pretty "BOO BIRD" song.
The "BIG ORANGE EYE" in the sky looked down and saw the discontent……

Then they started spinning the spells……..http://mailcenter3.comcast.net/wmc/v/wm/49199B1C00029B8500004D97221655140602020A0409979D9D 0E0D?cmd=GetImg&no=19&uid=330838&sid=c0&name=image003.gif@01C94346.A6B03FB0
……and away the "PHIL" went.
The last verse is yet to play……..
but the "BOO BIRDS" are dancing away.

When the search is over and the new one is found….
http://mailcenter3.comcast.net/wmc/v/wm/49199B1C00029B8500004D97221655140602020A0409979D9D 0E0D?cmd=GetImg&no=19&uid=330838&sid=c0&name=image005.gif@01C94346.A6B03FB0
I hope all is well so we can again hear that "Rocky Top" sound……
of the "BIG ORANGE" crushing each that come to the top.
Then we can finally tell the "BOO BIRDS" to stop.
If it should swing and sway then go south……
And the "BOO BIRDS" start to sing again…;…
We might have to call in the "BIG ORANGE" BEAR to punch them in the mouth

And put the singing of the "BOO BIRDS" to an…..
END………

but REWARD results.
Lack of preparation and lack of execution resulted in a talented team underachieving to the bottom of the SEC East.
The new coach will have plenty of talent and lots of disipline to restore.
The program is so deteriated, it will take at least 2 - 3 years to recover... sad day.

Fulmer has definitely done some pretty awesome things with UT Football, no doubt, but unfortunately in this day and age it's about what have you done for me lately. Records like 8-4, 9-3, even 10-2 just aren't enough if you aren't winning the big games, the SEC and competing for BCS Bowl Games every year, and it's too bad really.
He can recruit with the best of them; he is a great human being, and his love for Tennessee Football is un-matched. I dearly hope we can find a great coach to continue to lead UT and get the team back where it needs to be . . . beating UGA, and UF, and 'Bama year in and year out!!
GO VOLS!!!
