:? I thought this was to be a "loosely based" group, with no set guidelines regarding the posting of rides. This "riders group" is just starting out and bylaws have yet to be written; however, we did agree that the postings of rides and events that individuals are going to participate in do not have to be coordinated with the "riders group" in order for them to be posted. These ride postings are for information only; if you want to show up, fine. I disagree with some of the postings out there that specify getting approval for the ride.

Being that this group was supposed to be a loosely based group; that there are no set bylaws and that we are just staring out, I believe what happened over the Greylock ride is just wrong. Are we trying to run people away from joining the group or trying to draw more riders in? I feel that these actions should be looked at and thought about hard. This is a public forum and we have no control over the postings and should not control the postings.

Ideally, the formal "group" rides would be planned at the meetings with as many members present as possible. Sanctioned group rides would be posted on the CT VTX website. Granted, the Greylock ride was discussed at the Hopyard meeting, but it had been posted for quite a while and I am wondering why, less than 2 weeks before the ride, a brouhaha erupted and jdubes ride was seemingly "hijacked" by the riders group. This is starting to sound more like a Harley Owners' Group and not the original intent of a loosely based VTX riders group.

These are just my thoughts and my feelings. I'd like to hear other's thoughts on this as well.

Before this gets way out of hand just to let all of you know the ride has been worked out. All parties appear to have made consessions and the ride is on.

Yes rides should be posted and yes show up if you would like to ride. It is a public forum and we have already discussed this.

And no this is not a Harley Owners Group we don't have enough room for the added weight of tools.

I agree that we should be able to post rides and events from individuals on this board with out the approval of the Group. I personnally like to go on this rides posted by others and this board is the my only way of information for this kind of events. As a group we are only riding once a month and that "group ride" should be approve by the group, not all the rides need to be treaded as group rides, but as invitations to participate on none group rides.

I think and feel that in order to have no future confusion or turmoil on rides. That we should post with titles of Individual and Group in the subject field with ride suggestions. The issue with Greylock has been resolved. Jason and I had a good conversation and cleared up where the confusion came in. Also so that there is no further conflict over events. I also beleive that we should send private email or personal email when we think there is conflict and keep communication open with all who post here.
