Replacing clutch springs on the VTX 1800 C


This is a write-up on installing new clutch springs on the VTX. It was done on a C model but the swap is basically identical for the R model and very similar even for the 1300 models (the 1300's have a couple more bolts). I did this to replace the stockers with heavy duty barnett springs (MT-114-6) but the procedure is the same for replacing stock springs also.

MTC Clutch Plate install

This is a write up on how to replace the OEM clutch plates with MTC plates. This will work with all clutch plates, just follow that makers directions.
