Nah, never heard of it. A chopper you say? That just throws me into a "fury" since they dropped the 1800. 1300cc FI chopper? Nah, no way! :-P

The guy said it (the "fury") would be released at the New York show in 2009. What is this "show"?

That's right, it's true. Although I'll believe it when I see it. My local dealer was telling me about it and he pulled up some stuff on the their web. Really no detail and all they show on the site is a dark silouette of the front portion of the bike. Looks raked and chopper like. I'm looking forward to seeing if it becomes reality.

yup. and I'll be there at some point
I was in a Houston dealer the other day and stepped into the General Managers office to ask him a quick question. On his desk I spotted a picture of a airbrushed Honda Chopper. Looked pretty neat, although I didn't examine it closely. Could have been nothing, or it might have been what you guys are talking about.

This chopper talk from the dealer is just to get you all hyped up. I've never heard of this either? I hope you guys don't start speculating on this "new" bike. You might send some bard members off the deep end, and they might start sending nasty PM's. Don't say I didn't warn ya!

Really guys?? Surely you must be kidding when you say you haven't heard of it, right?
Just look at the many threads on the 1300 board and the General messages board all about the Honda "Fury" There has to be almost a dozen different threads about the Fury. Right now, all that is known is it will be a 1300 v-twin engine(hasn't been said it will be the VTX engine, but it seems that would be the way to go ) it will be fuel injected, and there has been 1 and only 1 picture of it grabbed off of Hal's computer. That pic is very blurry and very dark, intentionally done so by Honda. The other pics you will see in these threads is of an 1800 taken back in 2003

I heard the Honda just suspended Production on the 1800 for 2009 (to many left over’s and moving production plant to Japan) but the 1800 will be back in 2010.

You can hear all you want, but the 1800 hasn't been made in 2 years. It's done, not because of "Too many leftovers..." there have always been leftovers, even 1300's have leftovers. Honda doesn't care, they have a schedule to make say 10,000 units a year. Once theat is reached they switch to the next year. The fact that the 1800 hasn't been on a production line in 2 years, and the plant is closing soon, likely means the 1800 is done, just like the Valk, the Rune, the Shadow ACE, etc... Honda drops models more often than David Spade

C-Spike,
You may be right about "It’s Done" but do the math, I think 2 years may be a stretch. That would mean they stopped production in 2006?

No, I don't think so. I had an interesting conversation with the sales person who sold me my 05/1300 at a recent local bike event and he informed me that the 1800 was over with, and that although the 1300 was still being produced there would be no changes to it whatsoever. No rear fatty, no extra raking, no internal cabling, no fi, no model w/out that ugly arse tank seam... go figure. A new color scheme, a bag or windshield here and there, but that would be the extent of it.
He was just as baffled by Honda's decision because they had no offering for those buyers wanting a more powerful sport cruiser, and according to stats they were loosing many clients to the likes of Yamaha and even HD.
I informed him that although I was satisfied with my 1300/R thus far, I too was going to be within those stats when I purchase my next cruiser.
Anyway, just my .02 worth.

That was from another VTXOA member that was at the last Honda Homecoming. They asked about what model was built more and he was told that the 1300 wins hands down. Because they hadn't had an 1800 roll across the line since early 2007, that was direct from the VTX factory in Marysville, Ohio.

My Local honda shop owner told me that he heard they were holding off this year on the VTX and will be producing it supposedly again in 2010.
I am sure that is speculation but the Honda Shops have to have some kind of Idea or information from the Main company.

That might make sense IF they stopped making the 1300 and the Goldwing too as they were all made in the same factory and they all have leftover/extra models at dealers. But they didn't, those models are still being made, and they have announced those lines have 2009 models available.
plus, Hal would have told us that info if it were true
