When I first read that the Fury was going to get its motivation from a FI 1300 engine three things came to mind.
Will the horse power and torque numbers be the same as the carbureted 1300?
How will the MPG of the FI compare to the carb?
Who will be the first to retrofit the FI to their 1300VTX and document it?

Well, first they have to actually start selling the Fury. Then, You'd need to find either a wrecked one, or buy a brand new one off the shelf. The latter would probably be rather expensive I would imagine.

Yes, I’m well aware of that. :agree:
I really enjoy reading about the modifications the members of this board has performed on their bikes. I’m the kind of person who can not watch 15 min. of NASCAR but was glued to the set for an hour when they had a program about how they tune the heads for each track. I know I will not be able to afford to do it but I’ll enjoy reading about it.
We have a rotation of old topics such as MPG, Darksiders, front end rake, oil, bla, bla, bla… This has the potential for some interesting new posts. On subject that does come up a lot is the lack of MPG and power adders for the 1300 engine. Not only could we be talking about tuning the FI unit but FI opens the door to streetable power adders such as a turbo and supercharging as well. If the Fury is a hit hopefully the availability for aftermarket parts will increase for the 1300. I know I’m jumping the gun here but I’m excited about all the possibilities!
Too bad it dose not come with a six speed!

Well, considering the Fury is roughly 100 pounds lighter than the VTX1300, and the new cams, I would expect it's performance to be quite a bit better than our X. Oh, BTW, you don't need FI for a turbo/supercharger.

From what I have read turbo and supercharging anything is better with FI because it is more capable of adapting to the driving conditions (boost, air/fuel, timing). A carb can only do so much. “FI opens the door to streetable power adders” Didn’t say it could not be done.
