...now that I've seen it with other finishes in the pix Honda released. It's definitely more Victory'ish looking, but plainer. The pic of a Fury in platinum is pretty nice. Nice enough to sway me froma Victory or a HD as my next bike after my 1300S? No, not on this release.

I'm waiting for the unveiling of the new secret Victory any moment now: http://www.polarisindustries.com/en-us/Victory/Pages/Home.aspx

After all the months of speculation and hype, I looked at it and said "That's it?"

After the initial "oh well" wore off, I guess it's ok, but nothing I'd run right out to buy.

If I wanted a Victory, I already know a place to get those. . now Honda can be HD wannabe's and Victory wannabes. . .

bike is plain, and ugly! I would have to say after all the hype "You have to be kidding". That's the best you can come up with. if they wanted to build a chopper they should have gone to a few bike nights. Look and see what guys are building.Damn watch tv,and see what they are building.Cause they sure aren't building crap like that!

Actually, no you couldn't. It's obvious many of you have no eye for detail. The Fury is very clean with an old school minimalist look. Very nice work by Honda. So it's not for you. But it damn sure ain't a VTX with raked trees. If you think it is, you need to take a closer look.

It is quite possibly the thinking of the Honda people that buyers are going to want a blank slate to start with so they put one out there for folks to CUSTOMIZE in what ever way they see fit:dontknow: Just maybe??? My only real gripe is that they DOWN sized from the 1800:? What a shame:!:

8)DOWN size, maybe so but I think you will see a larger cruiser from Honda before a year from now or at least the announcement of one. The unions don't drive or controll Honda so they are waiting out these slow times and I do believe they have something in the pipeline for us power cruiser guys. I would love to see a slimed down Rune especially with that bad a$$ engine.

It does look as if Hal was right about that front grill though - decoration only. I think the first thing I'd do is give it the ol' yank-a-roo.

I do have one question though: What is it that's so ground-breaking about this thing? Is a factory Japanese chopper all that?

Personally, I think the power cruiser category is dead. I think the next big thing is going to be the flat tracker style/sport standard bikes, like the Harley XR1200 and Honda's new CB1100F. The displacement war is over, IMO...

And.......would the responses be more positive if the Fury had the X's monster 1800 or even a 2000cc in it instead? I think so but :dontknow:

It's not for me for a few reasons. I don't like the look of the fenders, the puny fuel tank is going to be a nuisance (sure, I know choppers typically skimp on the fuel tank size to stay sleek, but that doesn't make it a plus in my book), belt drive would've thrown more power to the rear and the single FI throttle body won't help on the power side. The brakes don't look like they could stop my bicycle and it's way to heavy for a true chopper (even if choppers were still in style, which they aren't). All that being said, because it DOES look like it can be readily modified with aftermarket stuff, if Honda is smart enough to price it reasonably, I think they'll sell a few.

When it comes to new release bikes I notice a lot of people make the decision on whether they would sell their bike to buy one.
No bike does everything well so we all get the one that does it for us. I always get asked why I have more than one bike.
I am not interested in this one..but I think they have done a good job. The concept is a little late but I bet they will sell a ton of them. As someone who makes parts for a living, I would buy one today to start making custom parts for...if I wasn't already covered up...covered up like my frigging X is  I need spring time NOW

I'm underwhelmed! :(

It leaves me a bit flat. Although I do see a good baseline for customizers.
It's just that with these times, I want the "best all-around" to which I still think that my 1300R fits the bill.
I'm happy with Honda, and still not looking to change.

I was a little worried I would be bummed seeing the new Fury. I went the route of building what I want (making a custom bike) and I didnt want to regret it if they came out with something REALLY cool. The Fury is decent....but I'm still very happy with my VTX....Phew! 8)

I think the new Fury will appeal to some folks.

My guess is Honda will sell a bunch of them.

I am more of a curmudgeon and really like most features of my 1300 Retro.

The Fury has fuel injection and that is one thing I would have paid more for or waited another year to buy if it were predicted to be available on the retro

curmudgeon:
1archaic : miser (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/miser)2: a crusty, ill-tempered, and usually old man

When I saw the painted wheel version I didn't like it. Then I got a look see at the shiney wheel model. WOW Me like it long time. Not sure what it weighs but it couldn't be as much as a 1300C. I'm thinking that the FI 1312cc will push it right along. I would love to get my hands on that air filter box for my F. I may own a Fury someday.

Wouldn"t trade for mine even up. Looks ok but doesn't do anything for me. Be lucky to be as fast as mine. I hate, all show no go. It's just nothing I'de ever be looking for.

I like the rake of the bike, as well as the tall skinney front wheel, gas tank has great curves, but the rear is hurting. I would have liked to seen a more fatter rear tire, with a chopped fender.

I think the pipes could have been better, somthing like the Mortons Down Turn style would be nice

Id give it about a 7.5, there all most there, but still need to work on the lines of the bike

Don't like it but my wife did?? what does that say:lol:

I guess you could call it a Honda Sportster :dontknow:

With the first single pic, the Furry didn't look that good to me. But after seeing several more shots from different angles and finishes, it's not a bad looking bike. But it just doesn't carry that "man I've got to have it" feel like the VTX did with its debut.

No bike is perfect in stock form.......but OUCH! This is definately one of those bikes that NO ONE keeps stock. I imagine with a different tank (read BIGGER), rear fender and pipes you could atleast admit to owning it.

Swing and a miss as far as I am concerned. :(
