A local Harley bike builder made these comments:
In the 1st half of my professional life I worked for international blue chip companies, and I know too well how slow they are to take decisions, assimilate trends and produce their manufacturing products. But once again I am puzzled by the decision of Honda to launch their first chopper model a decade after the new chopper-style wave was started. This is the Honda Fury, a chopper-style production bike from Honda supposed to be unveiled today at the New York International Motorcycle Show. This Fury has the longest wheelbase of any production motorcycle, is powered by a 1312cc fuel-injected and liquid-cooled V-twin (radiator is tucked between the front frame rails), isequipped with a 200-series rear tire and a 21” front. It uses a shaft drive as opposed to the more traditional belt or chain associated with choppers. The price is cool: about $11,000. But what’s new? Nothing. 10 years too late, I think.
