A local Harley bike builder made these comments:

In the 1st half of my professional life I worked for international blue chip companies, and I know too well how slow they are to take decisions, assimilate trends and produce their manufacturing products. But once again I am puzzled by the decision of Honda to launch their first chopper model a decade after the new chopper-style wave was started. This is the Honda Fury, a chopper-style production bike from Honda supposed to be unveiled today at the New York International Motorcycle Show. This Fury has the longest wheelbase of any production motorcycle, is powered by a 1312cc fuel-injected and liquid-cooled V-twin (radiator is tucked between the front frame rails), isequipped with a 200-series rear tire and a 21” front. It uses a shaft drive as opposed to the more traditional belt or chain associated with choppers. The price is cool: about $11,000. But what’s new? Nothing. 10 years too late, I think. Hey Hal,

I often check his blog and sent them an email about the Fury a few weeks ago, someone replied -
"were mainly about American bikes"

Well,
After looking at the "Ride to Pretend", "Pretend to Ride", Credit Card bikes that have been pumped out to the R.U.B.s. (Rich Urban Bikers),
For the Past ten years. Once Again Honda has designed a FUNctional,
Reliable and cost effective machine.

Do ya think?

If that's true ... they'll sell some. :)

so didI and I gotta say I agree with his closing statement. Albeit a nice bike, I was hoping for a different direction as well. I guess the DN-01 is going to be their take on 'the new' and Id imagine the Fury will provide some nice new sales in that market. I was still looking for a new angle on things.
