After viewing the video of the guy checking out the Fury at the Torrance new product center we can now ask: Is this just the beginning? First we have the Honda Fury Chopper and we have a Honda rep stating that this is the first in a new line of cruisers from Honda. If you go back in time the VTX1800C was introduced in 2001 followed by the VTX1800R and then the VTX1300's. All of that happened within a couple of years. My guess is that the sales of the Honda Fury will determine how fast they ramp up for the next variations. If the economy can get turned around fast then my guess is that bring the others out pretty fast.

Honda is the big dog in the motorcycle world so its nice to see them introduce new products that can get us excited about motorcycles again. For some reason that only Honda knows they have sat on their hands for a long time. Can we blame it on the automobiles? And Hondas transformation from a motorcycle company to an automobile company. And lately they are trying to grow into an industrial company with their airplanes and robots. How would Mr. Honda feel about how his followers have treated the motorcycle division?

Of course if its all about sales volume then the automobiles were a smart decision. Maybe Honda should split the motorcycles off and into their own company so the managers can focus on motorcycles and show the world what they can really do in the motorcycle arena.

I think it is the beginning of the end for Honda Motorcycles.
IMO, Motorcycles have become an afterthought for Honda.

I think a V4 will be coming soon. Check this site out.

That concept doesn't do much for me. But if they ever put a V-4 in a cruiser again, especially something with the ergos of a VTX and displacement of 1200cc or more, I'd start selling vital organs for one.

I don't think this is the end of Honda motorcycles at all. Yes, they've taken longer than we would have liked for something new, and not all of us are overly excited about their latest release. But given the state of the global economy, manufacturers don't have the luxury of taking too many gambles or the resources to absorb a major flop. And given the recent turmoil in the energy markets, Honda is smart to be a little conservative as far as engine size goes.

Let's wait until this thing actually hits the road and see how it sells before we start putting nails in the coffin. Maybe you won't buy one and I won't buy one (in its initial form, anyway), but apparently somebody at Honda thinks there's enough of a market for them to venture in this direction. No skin off my nose sitting back and watching it all unfold.

I want to know.....

What are they HIDING ?????????

There are at least TWO BIKES under covers, so that the cameras did not see them in that interview video.

There is more to come .... it's a new era! :D

If there is a new line of bikes after the Fury, they will probably be lower displacement ; around 1000cc.

Honda is definitely a smart company. The fact that their line of cruisers has been virtually unchanged for the past seven years (save the Rune) gives them a reason to re-design their product.
It's definitely coming and it's a bit overdue, but I do believe that's it's coming. The Fury is just the first and Honda will be watching it'S moveent VERY closely!

Re-visit this thread in two years and I bet the Honda lineup will be a different animal and our VTX's will be "Classics" LOL....

The RSV in my sig pic is a V-4 (1300cc) producing 98hp. It's not really the true cruiser I think you're referring to. I had my reservations about its displacement until I rode one. The V-4 is a nice highway bike.

I'm waiting for the 1800 Fury. If they build it I will be on it like white on rice.
