What do they do on the 8000 mile service? Is it just a check or do they fix stuff for that price?

No dealership is ideal, but Planet Honda has always been very good to me. They gave me a good deal on my VTX, and they give me decent prices on the few parts that I've bought there. Their service and parts personnel have always bent over backwards to help me. The employees ALL know me by name there. I'm sure that they groan anytime that they hear me calling, because they know that I'm very hard to please. But, they are a retail business, trying to make a healthy profit. I don't know of another car or motorcycle dealership that doesn't operate the same way. The consumer must always be knowledgeable and "BEWARE". I have heard a few bad stories from customers there. There are always things that they could do better, or problems that they could've handled better. Their service is expensive, but it's been pretty good for me. The complaints that I've heard have all been with failing to diagnose problems.

Crossroad Powersports in Upper Darby is pretty good. However, they are a small, crowded dealership, selling Honda, Kawasaki, and Aprilia.

Good luck,
Gus

Planet Honda may be expensive but they have bent over backwards to help me with the problems on my VTX 1300S. Crossroads in Upper Darby where I bought my bike is the worst service dept I have ever run across. They didn't have it ready on a Saturday when I gave them the deposit for the bike on Tuesday, telling them I would pick it up on Saturday morning. I went in on Saturday at 1130 and found out my bike wasn't ready! The bike wasn't assembled correctly (washers that hold rear shocks on weren't installed), missing pieces (MIRRORS). I perservered and brought it back for the 600 mile checkup and it was twice the proice I was quoted! I limped into Planet Honda because the bike would go dead when I was riding it. The cause was when it was serviced they didn't tighten the battery connections and my butt on the seat was the only thing keeping it going! I wouldn't go back to Crossroads if they where the last Honda dealer in the area. Planet Honda didn't charge me as they said it wasn't a warranty issue but a service issue and did the repair as a good faith gesture. :mcrider:

Ragman... most of the money is for the valve adjustment, they take the tank off and such ..replace the plugs adjust everything change oil and drive oil all this except for the valve adjustment I do my self so It will be a lot less $$$$ for me. all they will have to do is the valve adjustment and install new tires. but I have seen this service as high as $600 I don't know what they do for that much coin
and $25.00 per spark plug not me :D
Just a valve adjust for me and tires

see ya on the 12th
