This economy sucks to everyone. Sory to hear about the job thing, but the situation down here ain't much different.
On the other hand, If you had been thinking about comming South for some time, this would be the perfect time to do it!
If layd off, you will be getting that "fortune" from the gov. and that will give you some money while you look for work.
1st: Hope you can keep your job
2nd: If you decide to come down. Good luck
3rd : We will be here to help as much as We can.

Well I work for American Airlines at Chicago O'Hare (ORD)...in recent years they have been cutting flights laying people off here and giving our flights to American Eagle to have instead. In Miami (MIA) they have been expanding. If I transfered to Miami my seniority would place me in the top 40% of people there. Here in Chicago its a senior station now and I am in the bottom 10%.

My fiance is not to keen on the idea of moving to Florida so what might happen is that I find a crash pad to stay during the week and then commute home on my days off. Eventually I can get her to come on her days off to see what it is really like down there.

My grandparents used to live in Ft. Lauderdale and I was maybe thinking of looking there.

By the way I have a nice 2002 VTX C that I bought when they first came out and have a nice investment in parts and goodies to make it more like a VTX C "touring". When I bought this the R model was not even available yet.

Oh by the way we received 6 inches of snow...now we have a blowing snow advisory for this afternoon and into tonight. Temperature is 16 degrees. On the positive side I actually got my Nighthawk 250 (beater bike) out the other day and rode 20 miles.

Yeah, the job situation does suck here too, but at least I don't have to be out of a job AND have to shovel snow :D Just about everyone I know is out of a job (I'm in construction.......sort of) or waiting to be next. My company is downsizing now, 1st time in its history, and I hope we can make it through this recession. It sucks having to help decide who to let go - a hard working, grunt working man with 5 kids, and more like him, or an engineer who has alot of money. Some of us already offered a pay cut in order to save some positions, but for how long???? Sorry about rambling on...............Anyway, if you do come down this way, let us know.

Well I thought I was going to be safe until November...American just announced more cuts in ORD (Chicago). I going to start looking for appartments now. I am looking for more of a crash pad. Does anybody know where I can find a roomie with a possible place to stash either the VTX or the Nighthawk. The Goldwing will stay here.
