Welcome to the newcomers. It'll be great having more riders this summer. Hopefully we can plan enough rides and plan them early enough that people will be able to make arrangements to ride with us. Last summer was GREAT starting with the very first ride of our group. Amazing how we all got along so well. This year will be even better.

Tom and Mike: Welcome to the board. If one year's worth of foolishness hasn't scared you away.....you'll fit right in.
Ken Rte 100 in VT is an amazing ride. Definitely one that we have to consider this summer. It's packed with twisties, hills and some beautiful little towns and waterways. If you are planning on this one outside of a group ride, I'd be up for it. It's a great run from the south through Keene as I recall. Not sure how it would fit with the northerners.

Hope you guys don't mind but I've been reading your posts for the last few months also...I'm from Southern Maine (only about 30 miles from your border) and my name is Gary. Not alot of activity on the Maine site so I've been reading your site to hear about rides, etc... My buddy and I tried to have a get together at a seafood restaurant last summer and we arranged a day/time and let the Maine site know. We took our wives and were the only two bikes that showed up. What can I say....maybe it was us. :dontknow: All kidding aside, you seem to have a good bunch of people and maybe we could join you on a ride this summer if you don't mind having a couple of Mainers come along.
I'm amazed at how much activity New Hampshire VTX riders have. You guys/girls seem like a close knit community and that's awesome. For the record, I have an '03 1300s and it's Illusion Blue (blurple)...I know, not the best color but it gets me where I want to go.
Thanks for letting me read your stuff.

Welcome Gary.....you're right, we are quite the group. It all came about from our first ride as a group last June. We had over 25 VTX's on that ride. A great experience as most of us had never met before. Since then we have gotten much tighter as is obvious by our twisted sence of humor. We are putting together a list of rides we're trying to plan for the summer and talked about a Maine ride as well. You are of course welcome on any rides we have.

Hi Dave...yeah, I'm in Arundel and only a couple of miles from Bentley's. The crazy thing is that I've yet to go there. We keep saying we want to check it out but haven't done that yet. I have friends that have been there and say it's a great place...good food and music and plenty of motorcycles. Just haven't taken the time to check it out. Definitely have to find out for myself soon.
Shapleigh is just passed Sanford, I think. I'm about a 1/2 mile off Rt. 111 in Arundel. Rt 111 is the corridor from Sanford to Biddeford. I guess that would make me 20-25 miles from Shapleigh. I had an uncle who had a camp on Square Pond when I was a kid and remember going there a few times....wouldn't know how to find it today.
I can't believe how welcoming you guys are. Definitely like to join in on a ride or two this year. If you all happen to do a ride to Bentley's, let me know and my wife and I will join you.

Welcome to our Maine friends. As things would have it, we actually discussed putting a couple of rides together into Maine.

Is see your seafood event as a complete success. You both may be the only 2 VTX owners in the great state of Maine. So, a 100% turn out is as much as you can ask for. Congrats!
Let the games begin!
As to the Illusion Blue, you are actually the 3rd. Rich is obviously the most active and vocal, but I have a co-worker that bought an 1800 last year. He's read our board but hasn't chimed in yet. I'm hoping to draw him in for some of our events this summer. He's a big golf fan and spends much of his free time on the golf course.

I do have some links to New Hampshire. My wife has cousins/Aunts/Uncles in Rochester. Her uncle, Jim Waterhouse, was a long time salesman at the Dick Poulin Chevrolet dealership there before he retired about 15 years ago. Also, my two sons both went to Saint Anselm College in Manchester and graduated in 2006 & 2007 so I've been to Manchester tons of times.
