Just got my wheels back in January and until this weekend have only been able to buzz around town with the peeps.
But yesterday, being the gorgeous day that it was, I headed out from Clearwater to Dade City with a friend and our wives. While we didn't see any memorable twisties along the way we did have some nice runs along with beautiful scenery and some friendly cows.
We took McMullen booth up to Keystone then over to Gunn Hwy. We jumped off Gunn at Lutz Lake Fern road (nice run). From there we picked up Dale Mabry and merged into 41 hwy up to Ehren Cutoff which took us to Hwy 52. Ehren Cutoff was really nice with a few sweet turns and wonderful sites.
On 52 we buzzed over to St Leo's and toured the old chapel and then stopped in Dade city for a bite to eat. NOTE: Not much open on Sunday afternoon in Dade City.
Coming back we had the sun in our eyes but it was still a great ride! Then we shot over to Fritzee Freeze for some ice cream mmmmmmmmm!
Can't wait for the next run. I just wish it didn't take so long to get to the country from where I am.
If anyone has suggestions for good rides from my side of town I'm very interested!!

If you ever want to ride south ,We sometimes will take the Skyway over to rt70 rt72 and ride the back roads over to Lake Okeechobee. Theres no hills but it is wide open spaces with absolutly nothing for miles upoun miles .

you just missed the best riding area on your trip. There are lots of hills and twisties if you go North. Between 52 and 50 is some of the best riding in the state.

Lot's of options in that area. Can you be more specific? I'd love to try them out. That area is one of the easiest for me to get to so I'll be heading that way again soon.:mcrider:

If you take 41 up to 52 and head east the first light you get to there is a small Bar on the corner ( I dont know what its called are what that road is called ) But turn North at that road and it will take you to some really great riding roads with lots of twisties ,Hills Etc .You can turn down just about any of the roads leading off of it and get lost for a few hours . Where in Clearwater are you ? Im very close to Missouri . We got a few guys that ride Harleys in are group so no problem there ! Dont care what ya ride as long as ya ride /

Terry, thanks for the details. We saw the bar when we were up there and noticed all the rides out front. I wanted to stop but others didn't. I'll definitely head that way again and try out some new routes.
I'm up by Dunedin just north of Union off Keene. Would love to hook up if it worked out.

Terry,
Sorry I missed you. I only got out for a short time today and even then I wasn't feeling well but I didn't let that stop me. Let me know what your plans are in the near future (Quaker Steak, etc.) and maybe we can hook up.

Terry, ur speaking off "Bellamy Brothers Rd" at the neon cowboy bar on SR 52. Yep, you go north all the way, make a right at Powell, dropping down some very nice steep hills. You'll end up at Spring Lake Hwy.Go left. You'll end up just east of brooksville on SR50. The Hess station there is about the only stopping point when you get on Bell bros rd.
