Hey guys, I know it's still early, but I want to secure a weekend for the Sayner Pub Run!
Jackie & I would like to host a weekend in the northwoods. Only difference this year, is we're already here, so someone else will have to lead the ride up. But, once you're here, I'll take you on some awesome northwoods riding!
UPDATE: JUNE 26 - 28. OR, IF ANYONE WANTS TO COME UP A DAY EARLIER, THAT WORKS FOR US.
More details to follow.
It was a great time last year.
Thanks Dwight:thumbup:

I believe that is father's day weekend...but also the weekend after I get back from a week long canada fishing trip. Me thinks I won't be able to swing it. Would be fun though!!!

Bummer. This isn't working out so well! OK, let me regroup & see if I can make some different dates work. Before I post anything else, does the weekend of June 27 work better for some of you?? Otherwise, I may need to change to sometime in August.

Hey Dwight, has a date been finalized or are you still thinking?

The date is set. June 26 - 28. However, if anyone wants to make it a longer weekend and come up on the 25th, that works for me as well. I'll leave that up to whoever is going to lead the group up here, or maybe you'll be coming in a couple different groups.
We have two extra bedrooms at our house, plus a couple couches. And, there are a couple of motels in town. We've also got a three room tent we could put up in the back yard. Just depends on what everyone wants to do. When we start getting a count of who all is coming, we'll start to fine tune the accomodations.

What route do you all take to get up there? My cabin is up past Siren off of 70 as you head towards Spooner. I would love to ride along with anyone at least that far if it worked out as far as time and route.
thanks

I'll probably head up on that Friday, take the afternoon off and head pretty straight up. If anyone wants to ride up that day we could meet in Prescott or Stillwater. I'd probably head up towards Hayward and across unless you have a quicker route Dwight...

:agree: From Stillwater, I would suggest heading towards Spooner and then shoot all the way across on 70. That's a straight shot, yet a pretty nice ride with a few scenic sections. For others heading up on Friday, Stillwater would be a logical place to meet.

Maggie and I will be coming up. We were thinking about staying at the same place as last year. We'll see what kind of turnout there is. We will be heading up Friday morning.

Cool! You are welcome to stay at the Sayner Lodge, but I'm suggesting Eagle River this year since that's where we are living right now. Eagle River is about 20 miles east of Sayner. Of course, we'll still be visiting Sayner on a ride or two!

Howdy Dwight,
Any hotel recommendations for Eagle River? Looked on Hotels.com and there seem to be some choices in the $65-70 range. Something cheaper would be nice, all I'm gonna do there is sleep.
Otherwise, how much back yard do you have? I have a nice little one person tent that I haven't used for a while and would like to air out.
Lookin' forward to heading north!

I haven't had a chance to check out all the motel options yet, but I've got some other options as well.
1. We've got two spare bedrooms with queen beds.
2. We've got two sofas that are both pretty comfy.
3. We've got room in the back yard for a couple tents. I've got a three-room tent, but it's been a while since we've used it, so I need to get it out & make sure it's still in good condition.
4. The people across the street have a couple bedrooms in their vacation house. I'm still waiting to find out if they're going to be up that weekend or not. If not, there's a chance we could use their house.
Anyway, I'm hoping that we can get by with a minimal number of people having to get a motel, if any.

Sounds like you guys are pretty well set up for a Northern Wisconsin Motorcycle Resort! I'll gladly take whatever I can at your place, bed or sofa or tent space. I'm coming solo this year so I would not want to claim a bedroom if any couples are heading on up.
