I just bought my very first bike the VTX 1800c. And all I can say is this bike is awesome. One of the first things I'm looking to replace is the back foot pegs with floor boards. If anyone knows where I can get a deal on these it would be appreciatted. Thanks Greg :vtx18:

Hey Greg, congrats on the new bike ... the X is the only way to go! Too bad you bought a black one, they are slower than the blurple colored one that I bought ... LMAO! JK.

Hey, I think most people would point you in the direction of Hondaline whick is linked to this site. They garrantee that they have the cheapest prices, if not, they will beat the cheaper price you find by 5% ... not bad.

Let me know what you end up getting and how well they work. My wife really wants me to get a set for her some day ...

I've had my bike for about 4 weeks now and have about 1100 miles on it so far. I couldn't be happier with the bike (well, I suppose I could if I could afford ALL the accessories that I've been putting on my wish list ...)

We'll have to gather the other Maine X'ers and get a ride going sometime. Are you going to do the cancer research bike run in September that leaves from Naples?

Talk to you later Greg and welcome the the VTX family.

Congrats and welcome!! Do yourself a favor (if you havent already) take the MSF course!!!! I have no affiliation with MSF, just a believer in it. Tired of seeing all the Rider Down posts here. The 1800 is a great bike, but needs to be ridden with care and respect.

Enjoy and ride safe.

Welcome to the family. :) I live in Westbrook but I work in North Berwick. Does UBM still have that bike rodeo on Tuesdays at Wal Mart? I swung by there once last year. Honda Direct Line is the place to go for parts. Just be careful you can do the work yourself.

It's a small rally at Wal Mart in Sanford. When I went there last year there must have been 75 to 100 bikes of all makes and models. They had a couple of events going on when we were there like the slowest rider over a set distance and riding the plank. It was fun watching but we didn't have enough time that day to stay and watch much of it. It's a UBM sponsored event. If you go on there web sight it has the days there having it. I just checked it out and it doesn't look like they doing as much this year.

Just curious, but where did you guys buy your VTXs ? (what dealerships?) and what was the OTD price? .. I know at Reynolds they have a used VTX with 24,000 miles on it, but they still have a rediculous price on it for 9 grand, heck, with that kinda mileage I'd say 5 grand. Was just curious if people are still managing to get them cheap as people in other southern states are?

Hey fear187, I bought my '03 VTX1800C at Reynolds for $8,500 + the shipping, dock fee, etc. The bike was brand new with zero miles on it when I drove it out of the parking lot (my first new vehicle ever!). Are you looking to buy one for yourself or are you checking for somebody else?

I picked my bike up at Schott's in Lewiston. $11,400 a couple of years ago. At the time Reynold's had the same bike for $12,700. I've found Reynold to have very high prices. I've had some dealings with there service department as well and I'm not impressed in the slightest. After you get your bike try going to Power Wheels on the Muzzy road in Scarborough. They seem reasonable in price and when I talked to them they sounded like they cared about the people they do work for. Not like Reynold's. I have no affiliation with them and I'm still cautious about the service they will do for me but that's just the way I am with mechanics. Hwere evr you go try to get a fair deal and enjoy enjoy enjoy.

I won't be getting one for awhile, gotta save up cash, I was just curious though. I just haven't really seen Reynolds advertising it? or maybe they have and I just haven't seen it? .. also checking out the website you would never know... (considering the one they have used with 20K + miles... for 9+ grand.. ) so.. I was just curious. Thanks for the info :D
