Need Route Tips for Southern Utah

I am planning a 2 day ride from Las Vegas to Southern Utah next weekend (1st in Apr) and looking for good suggestions on a route and place to stay. My initial thought was to leave Vegas early on Friday and Try to make it to Junction then up to Torrey via UT 12.
Is this a good Route for roads and scenery?
Is there a better suggestion?
I assume we need really warm riding gear this time of year?
Any general suggestions or comments welcome.

Ya Know there are so many sites and roads to see in that state. Every direction I have ever taken there has alot to see and a fun ride. Either on two wheels or four. I have never been to Junction or Torrey But know matter what you decide I don't think youy will be disappointed. Ride hard and be safe.
