Not recently.
Did it in a cage a few years back. It was a great drive.
I would like to do it on my 'X" sometime.
I think they must have changed the highway numbers,
I thought it was triple 6 or maybe I am thinking of another road?

Yes it was part of Hwy 66 and they called it the devils highway. Too many signs stolen so they changed it. I think Barry on Cyclerides.com did a story on it a week or two ago but not certain.

its an amazing ride!! you have to take the opportunity now before it gets too cold and take that ride.
go from the south and head up north on the 191. stay the night in alpine. there is hotel called 'riflemen lodge', the name is along the lines of hunting. book in advance because they are booked, these is only a hotel or two in alpine anyways. the rooms are clean and the bathrooms are SPOTLESS! they are newly renovated.
dont eat at hangans meadow. the restauraunt food isnt the best. i am vegetarian (they dont have any fish), they charged me like $9 for two slices of bread with crap in it. so just stop there and take in the scenery and rest and then head on up north.
i just missed my second change to go last weekend with some friends, but i am going to head that way in the very near future.

Sportsman's Lodge in Alpine. Very cold up there now. Was highway 666 thus "Devil's Highway". Lots and lots of twisties. Nice lookout at the top before Hannigan's Meadow. Food sucks, yuppy stuff.
