View Full Version : Bike night - June 11th in Parkland/Spanaway

Well, the weather (and riding conditions) are right, so here goes. Let's try a bike night on June 11th at the Uncle Sam's pub in Parkland/Spanaway. It's right across from Rainier Honda/Yamaha and it really biker-friendly. I know it's a little south for some of you, but it's also a little north for some, so maybe it'll work?
The place is owned by a biker and his wife and they have tacos on Thursday and section off a part of the parking lot just for us.
If we get enough interest, I'll ask them to reserve some of the outside tables for us. They have about 2 acres - mostly outside and have tables, chairs, an outside bar, etc.

Let's say, oh, how about 6:00PM? I probably can't make it by then, but what the heck - no sense making it any later than that and, for sure, anyone is welcome to show up earlier or later.

say, do you know if they have the batting cages repaired yet? And is there still a putt putt golf course?

The golf course has been ripped out and replaced with grass. The batting cages aren't going to be repaired. I think the owner is going to take them out and replace them with a stage.

The building is owned by a friend/classmate of mine & the business is owned by Craig (Beerman) and Kathy. Craig is the one who started the local chapter of the Amigos. I've never had anyone from this group so much as look at me sideways and they're a friendly bunch of folks. It has to be if they're going to stay in business and open to the public.
I especially like the fact that they have a couple of acres in back, all fenced in and private and it's outdoors. I really don't want to sit inside on a nice day. Besides - Karen was comfortable there.

Hey - I like bats. We have bats, so sitting in the back yard is good - not getting chewed on by the skeeters. I'd bring some, but they're too fast for me to catch.
See y'all there.
BTW - I think the venue has changed a little. They used to let kids in, but I don't think they do that anyore.
Wooohooo! Zach turned 21 today.

Hi all ,
I am on vacation that week i will finely be able to come to bike night.
I was kind of curious about STG MacGyver Comment regarding patched riders
I have have not had a run in with any, I guess I'm to Old and decrepit looking
for them to bother with. But remember a Right not Fought for is a right Lost.
But as we get Older we learn to pick and choose our fights so we can live other day.

Here is a Hell's Angel's video that I thought everybody would enjoy since there was some talk of colors / patches at Uncle Sam's. It is from a french friend so the first part is him talking in french but keep watching~ great video of early 1970's choppers and why bikers are scary!!!!!

Shooter - it woule be wayyyyy cool to see you show up for such an event. As much as we haave disagrees in the past, this would be a way friendly bikd night to have you (and your cool bike) there. I know it's a reach, but it would be way cool to see you there.
Karen and I will be there. Hope to see you, too.

Lee - would be nice to have one of 'our own' show up on a HD. It might help 'legitimize' us - LOL! (Tubby - don't read this unless you bring Thor with you!).
Would be cool to have Roger, Russ & some others show up, too. We met some really cool people on BigD's poker run - including Ichibod Cane & his Headless Horsemen group. Maybe BigD can invite them?
Besides tacos, they have a pretty good menu and are genuinely "biker-friendly". I have been going to this place for some years now and it's about the only place I go besides the Rocksport in West Seattle.
I hope we have a good turn-out. Karen and I will be there. Would be way cool to see other couples there too!
As I mentioned earlier, the Putt-Putt golf course is gone and the batting cages are defunct, but the area out back is a great place to be when the weather is cooperative.
Perigard - would be great to see you and your wife here. Maybe next time you can call a bike night in your neck of the woods?

Hey Keevin - I'm still planning on being there but we couldn't find a sitter for the kids so Nickie will be staying home with them. The Headless Horsemen group pretty much just do charity rides but with enough notice, I could put the word out.

No big deal - just wanted to start a precedent so others would call a bike night in their neighborhood. The weather has been so nice, it'll be great to sit outside.

Well, it was a good showing tonight. I didn't do a head count, but Karen and I, Lee & Deena, Redhook & a friend, Perigard, Matt, Tubby, Heather & Robert, Sam and a few others I can remember were all there.
Plus - there were a couple of guys from the Iron Indians (I hope I got that right) there. Matt's friend (Mark?) Karen and I had bumped into long ato at South Bound Honda. The other was Wizard - who apparently watches the board but never posts anything. Dude - post a pic of your bike - it's awesome! More than a few mods there. Some guys were showing off their bright headlights and even bright turn signals that would make Nate envious - LOL.
There was some live music and a good crowd of mostly biker-type people. I guess all the gals had quite a conversation when the guys went out front to check out the new bikes and new mods.
I wanna do the HID conversion for my Raider (and later the Shadow) right after we do the driving lights.

Hey can't remember his name but that black VTX 1800C with trailer~ I almost jumped on your bike and road it away!!! But those foreward controls were too far forward for me.... Need to find a pair of KISS boots~
I was blinded by Sgt. McGyver's head light OMG!!! Those turn signals and that leather BRA on your front fairing~ well ..... no words can describe it~
Keevin's bike was looking AWESOME as always~ THINK PINK
As For the girls, Karen and Deena were great company as always~
WATCHOUT guys - The girls may invade your space on the 20th and put Hello Kitty sleeping bags in your tents!!!! Just kidding!!!!! OR I am I?!!!!!
