Looking for the Talihena drive

Hi guys...My brother and I are travelling back to AR on the 20th and want to do some riding when we get there. Was hoping someone in the know can tell us the best route to take starting from Ft. Smith to the Talihena drive from the OK side down south into Mena. Also, would appreciate any tips on stops along the way or things to see while we are there....Thanks

Also, would appreciate any tips on stops along the way or things to see while we are there....ThanksI can't tell you about any real good stops, as I have only rode it twice and both times were almost non stop. Looks like you would just take 59 west of FT Smith, and catch 271 south. That will take you right to the senic dr. If you go into Talihena, you went a little to far.

don't ask me to get my glasses out :lol:. But here is the map when we took the trip last hear. Put a real map up next to it and you'll get the jist. Talimena is a great ride and I'd love to do it again. Just might have to do it when I get back from Colorado.

The above map was about 12 hours of riding from Mt Ida and back. Some great places to eat along the way.

Just wanted to say thanks to Papa and Kermit for the info. We are heading out Saturday and plan on getting into AR on Sunday. Ride safe everyone and maybe we will see each other on the road.
