Well 4 of us made it back last night. We left Tom and Bill at the Two Wheel Inn (our start was to early for them). The trip back was a Biotch, cold and fog in the morning, hotter then h#ll in the afternoon and rain in the evening. We did the Dragon an the Cherhola saturday morning. Stopped at Deal Gap store on our way to do Hell Bender and found out that a "bagger" had lost it at the top. I had a voice mail to call me cousion when I got home. When I talked to him he informed me that the guy who lost it was killed and that he was from Florida. Of course the news had not said what type of bike he was riding so my cousion was checking to make sure that our group had returned home O.K. All in all it was a good weekend. 1500 miles, good roads, good food, helping the economy of the Indians in Cherokee, and above all else GOOD FRIENDS.

We rolled out of the room around 10:30, I guess thats why you call it vacation. We headed east then due south. When we got to the north side of Atlanta, the temp went up to about 400 degrees. It got even hotter than that the further south we went. The rain started south of Macon, except for one quick soaker, it was mostly on and off drizzle. We stopped in Cordel GA, and ate some excellent southern food, I havent had fried chicken that good in a long time. I ended up with 1492 miles on the trip meter. I will have to take the bike in, whenever I went above 85, it sounded like gravels churning in the engine. Thanks again Brian, for being our tour guide, for all those twisties.

Yep, Brian did a fantastic job playing road captain for the trip, and we had one heck of a great time. Brian even got in our quota of WestJax 050 U-Turns, making sure we had one each and every day at least!!. 600+ miles in 14 hours means I am now sure that I have no intention of ever getting my iron butt award.
Glad you guys made it back alright Tom, and hotter than h*ll wasn't the word for it. 16 hours later I'm still dehydrated.
I can't wait to go back up there........next week!! I've been scoping out a different route than I originally planned, now that I know the area. Been looking the roads between where we were and where I need to go and the trip has slightly modified and I should get at least 4 more days of twisty riding in on the way to Iowa.
Now to start the planning for the next big road trip!! I need to get rich and retire so I can do that all the time, at a slower pace!

I didnt have it in me to do a fast pace ride home, taking it easy still did me in though. I must have drank about 8 bottles of gatorade, and I still feel dry today. That being said, I'm going to take a nap now. Dont forget to check http://killboy.com (http://killboy.com/) , for your Dragon pics. They should be able for viewing later today, or tomorrow.

Leaving tomorrow on the Ultra-Harley (sold my VTX) for Western N.C. Catching the Blue Ridge, Cherokee, Cahola Pky (spelling???) and the Tail. Bummer though, only a week up there to goof off and then it's homeward bound.
I'll be the "GEEZER" on the roads enjoying the trip. I don't have to return to work until 8 AM the 13th...why rush.
Glad you'se guyz got back ok. That's a long way to travel in a weekend.
I'll post pictures upon my safe return.
