OK, the 14th was a washout. Where and when is the next attempt? Do we want to try for the end of this month, or wait until September? Try the same place again, or pick a new one? I for one really wanted to see those custom bikes. I might even take a ride up tomorrow, since I'm off.

I say we try again before the end of August and shoot for the same place. I would love to see the bikes again and any new ones that may have arrived plus Charley's route is a nice one for the ride.
We could post a poll for the best date for everyone. Seems that alot of us were tied up with other things this last weekend anyhow.

I'm headed for a 3 or 4 day trip to Wellsboro, PA this weekend. I could make a get-together on Saturday, the 28th. We have our Rehobeth Run on Monday, the 30th.
We should think about September, too (in addition to our August date). September is getting crowded, already. We should try to pick a date and location for September early. If we have a mild October, I'm ready for that, too! Hell, we had some 50+ degree days last December. We could make this a year 'round thing, weather permitting. We don't have to "winterize" our bikes, like some other brands do!

We have been using the 2nd Saturday of the month so far, but that's not cast in stone. It gives us a "planning target" to try to keep clear the 2nd Sat of every month at Noon. Staying with the same date every month gives us something to shoot for.
If anyone wants to suggest another date, that's OK, too.
Last Sat was the first rain out so far....not bad considering how wet the whole "summer" (summer? WHAT summer?) has been....

I'm in for a lot of business travel for the rest of the year but I will keep watch on the rides you plan and try to make them if I can.

I posted a thread on the general board and did not get a response about Wildwood's Bike week. It is a real good time and pretty close. I am leaving sometime on Friday the 10th with my brother and staying the weekend. Any interest in staging a ride down?? Meeting somewhere when down there??? Come on guys-If I can get the OK from my wife then I know you guys should be able to (Maybe Ragman might have some difficulty :D )

The only "maybe" date for me in September is the 25th. And, that's only a definite "maybe". I'm busy every other Saturday. I'll catch up to you when I can!

Anyway...how about the August 28th for our rain date?
I have some added incentive for you guys for that date. It was a beautiful day for a ride. I just happened to be in the Warminster area, and decided to drop in at nearby "Bucks Co. Custom Cycles". It was a very nice place, full of beautiful bikes that I can't afford. I didn't see any Titans, as someone said before. They were mostly Bourget and Vengeance bikes, with a few Hellhound choppers (10 ft. long). I was the only "customer" there, and they let me sit on all of the bikes. COOL.
BUT... BCCC is having "Bourget Days" August 27-29. Roger Bourget is going to be there in person, all day on the 28th! My very favorite custom bike builder! They are having free food and music that weekend. So, even if you guys don't want to go on that date, I'm going anyway. I'm going to get there before they open at 10am.

Gus,
Let me know the details. I am a huge fan of Bourget's as well and would get a kick out of meeting him.

I plan on getting there at 9:00 or 9:30. They open at 10:00, and say that Bourget will be there "all day", whatever that actually means. It took just over an hour to get there from my house.
Iron Butt, we can meet at the "Marple Crossroads Shopping Center" at 8:00 or 8:30, if you want. I took the short, fast way up. Up 476 to 276 to 611. Let me know.

Hey, Guys,
That date looks fine to me. I've been off-line 'cause my PC has been down & I'm on from an alternate location, but I do plan to be there. Looking forward to seeing you guys!

Iron Butt,
Looks like no one else is going. You still up for it? If so, let's make it 8:30.
Steve? Chefcpb? Cliff? SilverBulletVTX? Greenvtx? Anyone else?

Yes, I'm still in! Even got the OK from my wife to miss her cousin's funeral (it's her family & she doesn't really want to be there), and the weather report is looking ideal, for once on a planned riding Saturday. I'm looking to have a great time because I'll be there about Noonish!
Oh, yea, BTW, how far up Rt. 611 is this place? I know I'll get to it, but I have no idea how far past Cheltenham Ave. this bike shop is? Can anybody give me a clue? Thanks!

SilverBulletVTX,
I don't remember seeing Cheltenham Ave. But, this place is on the left, about 10-15 mins. past Rt. 202, on northbound Rt. 611. I guess it's about 20 mins. past Warminster. You can't miss it. Look for the gold tower and all the pretty bikes. I'll be there at about 9:30, before they open. They might get a big crowd, depending on how well they advertised this event. They are providing free food and music, so we won't have to worry about lunch or entertainment! See you there.

SilverBulletVTX,
Bucks County Customs is about 40 minutes (give or take) north of the Turnpike (exit 27). After you pass the TPK, Willow Grove Naval Air Station will be on your left...keep going through Warminster and Warrington. Take the 611 bypass (keep to your left) follow it around Doylestown. The place is about 5 to 10 minutes ahead on your left.
See you there.

Gus & cjy315,
Thanks, guys! You put it in much better perspective for me, since I thought it would be easier for me to go thru the Mt. Airy/West Oak Lane section of Philly to get to Rt. 611 by Cheltenham Ave., which runs along between Philly's Northern border & Bucks Co. Old York Road going North out of Philly is mainly known as Rt. 611 after it crosses Cheltenham Ave., and I thought I'd be closer that way, but I'll do much better taking a highway route like the Turnpike to get out that far, especially from West Philly! Is there something else that will put me closer there; if you've got any more suggestions, I'll take you advice! Thanks!

Gus,
I still am trying to make this event. I just won't know till Friday night. Just in case-where abouts is Marple crossroads shopping center. Is it off of 320? Route 3? Thanks in advance.

Chris,
You want to come way up here to meet? It's a long way from you. However, "Marple Crossroads" is located on US Rt. 1, just south of the intersection with PA Rt. 320. You would come all the way north on Rt. 1, making sure that you get on the Rt. 1 "Media By-Pass" (don't follow Baltimore Pk. into Media). US Rt. 1 changes from Baltimore Pk. to State Rd. Just before the intersection with PA Rt. 320, you will have a traffic light. Collins Rd. is on the right, "Marple Crossroads" is on the left. It's a big shopping center, you can't miss it. If you cross 320, you've gone one light too far. Iron Butt and I are meeting there at 8:30, if you want to come with us..
You could also get to Bucks Co. Custom Cycles by coming all the way north on Rt. 202, and turning north on Rt. 611. The place will be on your left, about 10-15 mins. from there. Or, 202 to Rt. 100, and get on the PA Turnpike to the exit for 611 north. Check with MapQuest or Maps On Us to see what your best route would be.

Gus,
If I make it I will coming with my brothers (Brookhaven) so I will only be 10 minutes from there. I know exactly where that is. Hopefully I will see you there.
Thanks
