Hey stan,

I'm up in Sussex County (north west Jersey) I don't know how many NJ X'ers there are out there, but the more we can find the better!

Nice riding country up there.
Maybe if we post something on the 1800 tech board some Jerseyites will check in.
Worth a shot??

Stan,

I posted on the General Board, this way the 1300 and 1800 folks will both see it. Yeah there is some nice ridin up here, just wish it would stop raining long enough to get some descent riding in. I usually take a weekend ride that takes me over the NYS border, up to newburgh, around to middletown, down 84 (have to stretch the X's wings on the interstate a bit), into pennsylvania, down 209 to 80, and then back home. Nice scenic ride over high point, and some really cool places to stop. Haven't done that in quite some time though. This weekend looks promising!

I put my scoots specs in my signature. I got a lot of goodies, but feel like I'm only halfway there!!!

Hopefully we'll get some more locals in here!

Do you ride the stock seat? I can go about 50 miles before my butt starts burning.

I ordered an Ultimate Big Boy - should have by the weekend. From what most say this should be my answer. I hope so cause I really enjoy this bike.

Hey fellas! Checking in... :beer3:
I'm here, but not local.... way down south on the Delaware Bay.
Do most all my riding along the bayshore from the river to Cape May.
Nice to see a jersey board, I'll keep checking in from time to time.

Confused as a Baby in a Topless Bar

Love that!...

Stan, still have the stocker on my scoot. I'm on the fence as far as the seats go. I like the Ultimate Big Boy cuz I got a big a$$ :D and could use the cushion, but I really like the aerodynamic look of some of the corbin seats...I might have to get both!! One for short showoff trips, one for the day trips. I get about 50-75 miles on my a$$ before I have to stop. If i'm on a road with traffic lights I can go longer thanks to the 30 seconds or so to stand at a traffic light, but if I'm on the freeway, yikes!!!

Ultimate Big Boy is supposed to ship today.
Nothing cooler than the looks of Corbin but you're right - it's good for the local cruise nights only.
Rode Harley's all my life and had every Corbin & LePera know to man kind. "If it looks good it can't be comfortable" is so true.
I have sent 3 e-mails to Corbin asking if they would make a Fast Gunfighter for the Neo but they have not responded. Guess they have too much business and don't care about customer service. I'll send another one today or try calling them.
Later....

There is a website you guys could check out, the address is www.njxriders.com (http://www.njxriders.com). Quite a few guys on it.
As for the Ult. big boy seat, I put it on and didn't notice a difference at first but after about a 100 miles it did feel better. I think it even says that in the literature somewhere too. I ride from NW NJ to NYC (50 miles) and the old seat was murder, now it's pretty good.
I'm doing the V&H bigshot install tonite on my 1800 C, anything special you want to fill me in on with regards to installation? I know about the using of washers (5/16") on the studs, using new exhaust gaskets, torque the acorns to 15 ft. lbs, watch the clutch cover and the spreading of the pipes. Anything else you noticed?

Thanks.

Welcome John,

Got my ULtimate today - can't wait to try it out.

Can't help you with the pipes - dealer installed them.

What part of Jersey are you from?

I'm in Bridgewater. It's ok on the pipes, I did them tonight and I found them real easy to do.

John,

Glad pipes went good - I think you will like them. Are you going to use a Power Commander or some type of fuel management?

I'm going to wait and see if it's needed. According to this site, some people have found they need it, some don't. I didn't notice any popping on my ride after the install but it was a short ride. I'm looking at the six degree clamp now though.

For John R., I believe the nuts are torqued to 17 ft. lbs, and be sure to check them after riding some. When mine loosen, up I get an increase in decel popping. I have the mustang seat, and it took a little while to get really comfortable.

Hey, is there anyone riding in Fair Lawn, Glen Rock, and Paramus area?
Where are you guys riding at all? I do sometimes ride to NYC, lower East Side, Brooklyn and Staten Island, to see some friends and relatives(to show off my red baby as well:)
Is Garden State Parkway O.K. to ride? I'm planning to go to Jesrey Shore in next weekend. It seems to be that everyone is speeding at 80 plus on the parkway.
I'm a new rider. Therefore don't feel comfy at speeds higher than 80.
By the way, I saw I red retro 1800? on Paramus Road at Century road at 7:00p.m. on Sunday, 19th.
Anyone?

I see most of you have 1800s. Any room here on the NJ site for an 05 1300Retro rider?

Like the ride and need to put a few options on it. Should have the Honda deluxe sissy and luggage rack tonight. Want to put some saddlebags on as well.

anybody know if the ez mounting bracket will fit easily on that configuration?

Thanks

Hey ra3boy-
I live in North Haledon and work in Fair Lawn. Look forward to riding with ya, but unless we get an "indian summer" looks like it will have to be next year.

Hey there everyone,
Spend all my time on the 1300 board, saw a post about yose guys over here and thought I'd check it out. Not alot of action yet, but these things take time. I'm in West Long Branch (Monmouth County) about a mile from Monmouth Park Race Track. Saw some talk about waiting till spring to ride. Come on your from Jersey, your tougher than that. Check out the Polar Bear schedule, rides every sunday till the end of march. All over NJ, eastern PA, southern NY and even Deleware.

And if you're heading down to the shore drop me a line.
Ride Safe, stay Warm & have FUN
