Psalmist

1 For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven, 3 inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked. 4 For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge. 6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord-- 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight-- 8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. 9 Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.
Last thursday I went to my doctor because I was having increased pain due to the cancer I'm battling. He sent me to get an xray. It turned out to be a lesion in my left hip bone causing more pain. Now my meds are more powerful. I start next Wed with chemo and radiation or at least a consultation with the dr. This should knock out the pain and hopefully kill the cancer there. As the Dr suggested I get a wheelchair, my eyes welled up. I asked for a prescription for a cane. I picked out one that matched the color of my bike.
I'm not done riding. Tomorrow I'm riding to church, then maybe setting the bike up for a few weeks while I go thru treatments. One of the names of God is Jehoveh Rapha. That means the Lord our healer.
Isaiah 53:4-
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
I have faith to believe for my healing and I walk in it. When Jesus took my sin, he also took my disease. One thing this battle has taught me is, I need to be thankful for everyday I have. I have learned to choose my words wisely.
If you are battling sickness and want prayer, drop me a line. I'm already praying for you.
