X-Beast Driver

I know.....this thread is worthless without pics! I was at Everett Power Sports today and I pulled the remaining bling off my old bike and said goodbye to it for the last time. It was kind of emotional like losing a good friend. Me and that bike did a lot of fun things together. I'm really gonn'a miss the Red Beast. It's sorta like having to put a dog down. Not a fun thing. Some people might think WTF it's just a machine, an inert object without a soul. I say it's more than that. It became a part of me and it's hard to let it go. Thank God I was able to walk away from my accident. I actually do have more injuries than I first thought but at least nothing is broken.
Last night I went to the Northend Meetup Group meeting and I felt very alone when everyone hopped on their bike and rode away. I knew right then and there that I needed to get a new ride and not wait until November or December for an insurance settlement. I know I will get enough to pay for my new steed but there is no way in hell I'm gonna wait 4 months to ride again, it just ain't gonna happen.
Today a guy bought a new Goldwing at Everett Power Sports. Because his wife didn't like his "X"! Now we can have some fun with that comment!
He traded in an 07 1800R Spec 3 that only had 4,100 miles on it.
It's mine now!!! It was only on the floor for 5 minutes. It looks a lot like a C model in many ways. It has a short tail like a C and the front fender is the same C model style, a little bit shorter than the standard R model. However it does have a fatter front tire like an R model. It has the the typical R model tank with the speedo in the dash on the tank but here is the kicker. It also has a digital tachometer in the dash right on top of the speedo read out. It is black in color and no tank flange or chrome tank badge. It does have a very subdued black VTX tank decal that you have to look hard at to see it. It also has floorboards that scrape a little sooner than my pegs did! Here's where it get's interesting and I can't figure this out. The R bars on my old C model have more pullback than the stock R bars on this bike. It almost feels like stock C bars. The guys at Everett Power Sports are gonna swap bars from my old bike for me as they didn't get damaged in the wreck. I'm also having them install a Honda Delux Backrest and Luggage Rack like my old bike had. I'll get some pics of the bike on Tuesday and force myself to learn how to post pics.:yikes:
The Stock Seat sucks. I'm gonna have to replace it with something. The stock passenger seat sucks even more than the stock passenger seat on my old 02 C model. Actually I didn't have a problem with the stock seat on my old bike but my wife hated the padded brick passenger seat because it really did suck. I'll admit to that! But the rider's seat on the new bike really sucks!!!! Oh well, I'll just throw more money at the problem! :yikes: Other than the seat issue it appears to be a great bike. I'm really looking forward to going to Izzy's! :-P
