Rod, sorry it took so long to remember our chat about the patch, but it finally came thru the fog [which means Colleen reminded me...]. I have the patch hanging on the bike room [also known to some as the garage]. So this makes four still in existence, eh?

I also have two of them. One on the first vest I bought and one extra one. I wore the vested one to the My first WA VTX riders meet that I ever attended back in 2004 which was at ROD's place. First time I enjoyed his BBQ. That was also the last time I ever wore the vest....

The following is just an FYI...
That meeting we discussed the "controversy/danger" of wearing the patch as one of the members was "warned" by the 1%er's to never wear the patch again nor any other member wear it. I value my life and took the warning seriously and decided not to wear it again.

Here's a post from back in 2004: http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28798&highlight=VTX+Xrider+patch%2C+trouble

You'll see some of the concerns and an answer from a 1%er.

I don't want to sell either one but if it were needed to make a copy of it I could work with that. Just be warned about wearing it in public. This state was not the only state that was told not to wear it by the 1% folks. The other's took it seriously too from what I have read on the forum.

So, does that mean there are 6 of them still around?

I'm sure some of the original WA VTX Riders still have them but may not be actively participating on the VTXOA site any longer nor even own a VTX any longer.

I have one on my vest and wear it all the time.
I didn't spend 7 years in the USMC to let some 1% jerk tell me what to wear and if they do Mr Walther PK and I will be happy to discuss it with them:lol:

I just don't feel I need to wear it so bad that I want to have to carry my gun with me. It's just not worth the trouble or the consequences for any one of us. Me, the 1%er or the next X Rider that is wearing one and not knowing there is a known problem.

I felt I need to pass the word around as my best guess is that most of the current WA X Riders may not even know there has ever been a problem with this patch. Hate to see someone without the knowledge of the past walk into a bunch of trouble.

It not only affects the one person wearing the patch it affects all the riders wearing the patch. One person may be able to care for him/her self but not everyone out there can or wants to do so. One must make a decision about this patch and must be aware of all the facts and make that decision. Then it is at least an informed decision.

Personally I cannot believe that anyone anywhere should have to even consider you could be hurt/killed over wearing a patch that states you live in a particular area, like a particular bike, and that you ride with your friends. This concept is just so silly and stupid, like something out of a grade school playground... But unfortunately, because there is group of people out there that do live by this creed you must be aware of it and by their terms, "respect it", and make your choice wisely.

If anyone decides to have the Patch made then put me down for one. . .I can have it sewn on to my Hover Round at the Home when the time comes. I will take one. Personally I just dont have a problem with what a 1 Pee or 2 Pee thinks about it.

Budley, were you wearing that vest on the trip to the ocean the other day? We got passed by a couple of patched groups that day and I was watching you as they passed because I thought you had a "Washington" patch on. Not one of them gave you a second look. I thought that was cool. 8)

My heart is defiant but my brain sez to avoid unnecessary risks. 1% are no joke but I am sure y'all know that. Here is my alternative. No name, no location (state), just a logo.

I sport the small WA VTX Riders patch on this vest as well. I bought the patches off this board, did a search "patches".

Keep your day job. Another failed attempt at humor.
I happen to carry as well. Just prefer to not make macho, dumbass comments about it. And you ought to know that there is only ONE reason to shoot and that IS to kill.
How's this for funny. I find it very amusing that anyone who looks so much like a weeble would even consider calling anyone else a weeble for any reason.
Usually the folks who are supposed to be the butt of the joke don't find the jokes very funny. Does the shoe fit. Or you got other stuff to stir?

Sam you seem to find it necesary to take shots at me anytime I post and we all know its because you and I disagree on car tires.

Has anyone ever approached the WA COC about the patch? I would love to wear the original one, but I don't want to stir any pots.

(BTW The tire thing is really really tiresome. Wouldn't mind exploring the issue, as I need tires, but the testosterone and emotion attached is too much for me. Another pot I choose not to stir, well not too much.)

Ok everyone, enough of the tire crud. I've ridden with both sides of the fence and as far as I can tell there's no reason for all the banter. Were not changing any ones names to anything. Weeble people or just plain what ever. Makes no never mind to me. Bud, I've ridden with ya and will again but I'm not choosing sides. Far as I can see there's no side to choose. I'll ride with anyone, Well almost anyone. As long as thier on a bike I could care less if thier tires were made of hemp. But I supose we'd want to change their names to pot scrubbers. MELL THE MOKE, just add an S.

Don't care for it? Well imagine that.

Attitude and presentation have EVERYTHING to do with it.

Was just a simple answer to your comment to me. Think for the sake of the board- if you have anything else silly to say why don't you just PM me and I'll go ahead and ignore it there. Done with this. You do the same?

Sam,what I and others don't understand is how you can be such a nice guy in person and get so angry when we disagree on something we post.
You know the guy I refered to in my name change joke thought it was funny as can be.I won't pm you if you ignore it but I will buy you a beer at Izzy's8)

Not angry- Just annoyed. You seem to forget what an ass you were several years ago. Why in the H do you think think you get grief from all over the VTXOA whenever you bring this tire business up. You will not let people interested in the subject have a discussion without chiming in. There have been posts specifically asking for riders with experience on car tires and yet- there your are. And so you bring it up again.
I've never told any they should do anything. I have said it is a viable alternative and worth looking at.
A forum is not the best place settle differences.
If you do not understand why people have a beef with you by now you never will.
Thanks for the offer of the beer.....

There are two sides to every subject and my opinion is as valid as anyones. When people ask they should here both sides. The only ones given me grief and calling names are the darksiders. If you read all the posts most people agree with me.My only reason for even responding is some of the silly claims made by the car tire people like the guy who said he passed cars in the snow his traction was so good.
I don't have to stop wearing a helmet to know its a bad idea.I have also seen enough of your posts to know you always get angry and attack when anyone disagrees with you no matter what the subject.
Why don't you put me on ignore if I bother you so much.

You also called me a Ass in this post! Why?Its because I disagreed with you Two years ago like I do now.Or was it because of my Sparksider joke.(that was some of my best stuff)
We all know you went to the trouble of sending my post to the darkside forum where I never intended it to go as my message is for riders before they convert. You knew your buddy's twin1300and that other PCT(phoney christian troll)Doc Havoc would come and attack me.
So again I would suggest you put me on ignore and try to get a life as its only a tire.

This reminds me of some of the crap I have stirred up in the past. The fact is most of us love one another (ok - to varying degrees - LOL). Opinions vary - especially on such hot topics as Republican vs Democrat or CT vs. motorcycycle tire. The fact remains that we all ride together no matter which brand, which type of tire, whether you have a windshield or not (pay attention here Bob), etc.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of floorboards on a motorcycle. That's just my opinion. Some will agree & others will disagree. There's no need to disrespect anyone for their personal opinion (although I think I have some 'adversarial' members regarding my late night posts - LOL). I'm not going to lose sleep over it and I hope you all don't, either. I know there are a lot of people who disagree with me (fundamentally). So what? Maybe some disagree with Bueley, or whoever. It just doesn't matter. This is a board where we can all express our opinions, our thoughts and Ideas. Everyone is not going to agree with everyone. My God! We have about 500 people here and we keep getting input from everywhere from Mississippi to Wisconsin to who knows where.

This is a great board with a lot of different personalities, experiences, and backgrounds.

PLEASE!!!!!! Stop taking everything so personal!

My experience is different from Budley's, different from Todd's and Tracy's, different from Faceman's, BigD's and everyone else's. The fact remains that we have a whole lot of riding experience between us and not everyone is going to agree on everything. Let's talk about windshields, or floorboards or stock tires vs. 200, 210, or even 300 series - not to even mention car tires.

This is a great group and if you can laugh at yourself and enjoy the humility, it'll be so much the better.

Just my humble (drunken) opinion.

Let's ride. This is the most awesome summer for 116 years. We need to enjoy it and remember it and tell our kids, grandkids, and maybe even great-grandkids about it.
