mojoguy
08-07-2009, 12:31 PM
Some are obvious.....names/initials/cities with year models of bikes.
Mine comes from the hunting lease I've been on for years. I use "Mojo" ducks in my decoy spread. When fellow hunters/new guys refer to whos that guy doing all the shootin ? what guy ? the guy with the mojoducks. Oh the "mojoguy". So I used it on this forum
BTW, all the shootin means it usually takes me 3 shots to catch up with a bird

08-07-2009, 12:38 PM
I maintian medical equipment. which is where the bio part comes from, back when AOL first came out, a guy a worked with and I loaded it on the the work computer to see what it was about, since we were both using it, he said we should call ourselves biodudes. I dropped the S and have pretty much been using it ever since. I've used different endings here and there but the bio has always stayed

nash is part of my name and just added .vtx as (believe it or not) this was my first forum. I subsiquently joined a couple of other forums but retained the same handle as I find it difficult to remember too many ids and pws.
BTW - this should have been in the general forum

Terminals
08-07-2009, 01:04 PM
"TERMINALS"
I have been involved in the automotive aftermarket (auto parts)
since 1975.
About 14 years ago I started a small company selling
Terminals, Fuses, Nylon Ties, Bulbs, Wire, Loom, Body shop clips,
Heat Shrink, Pigtails & Sockets and other related items.
Until the complete fiasco of the government bailout of GM and Chrysler,
my avatar showed some of the terminals I distribute.
I will probably change it back pretty soon.

Redjack
08-07-2009, 01:15 PM
Many years ago I was on some chat site that required you to fill out basic information about yourself that seemed kind of silly for what it was. One of the questions was about what your occupation was. So in the most serious typing mode I could muster I wrote" retired serial killer". For my screen name I chose Redjack. For history buffs of sensational crimes you may recall (or not) that Redjack was one of the names used by the person eventually to be called "Jack the Ripper". I, in my sick little mind, kind of was tickled by whole thing and have used it ever since. Now I am older and more mature and still have that sick little streak that just can't let go. Most assume it was because I have red hair or must be named Jack. The site admins never did question me about it.

KenzX
08-07-2009, 03:09 PM
I originally joined here as "VZRider" in 2003 because I worked for Verizon (VZ is the stock call sign) and I was a rider. Then when I retired in 2004, I changed to "KenzX" which stood for "Ken's VTX" and also matched my bike's personalized plate. I had a number of people ask me if I got my bike when I got my divorce (I guess they figured that the X meant my ex-wife and that I got a bike to spite her.) I got tired of explaining that I was not divorced so I changed my plate to "KC VTX" and I changed my user name here to "KC VTX" as well. Well, there is a VTXKC and several other close combinations, so I asked LaMont to change me back to "KenzX" and here I am...still not divorced. :doorag:

simple...
From the Ant & The Aardvark cartoon, which was part of the old Pink Panther animated series...
Actually,I was trying to get a name that would put me close to the front of the alphabetical line so to speak..
Figured starting with "AA" would work, and aardvark seemed to make sense..
Other than that,it has no significance at all...
roughrider
08-07-2009, 04:24 PM
I have read a few books written by Teddy. In the first book he had gone west to try his hand at ranching. He had great respect for the really tough cowhands that had earned the name roughrider. It was common for them to wear out two or three horses in a day during roundup time. In later years when he had a command he proudly named them "The rough riders".
I sometimes like to ride as far and fast as I can to get to a place and have gone over a 1000 miles a few times in a day and 1249 is the most ever registered on my odometer in a day (not one mile of interstate, most on the Alcan). I'm learning to smell the roses and enjoy riding with friends. So the roughrider days may be over?:dontknow: sb

tonguewagler
08-08-2009, 03:26 AM
It's a nickname an old girlfriiend gave me. No really whenever I am doing something that takes consentrasion I end up with my tongue sticking out. And I used to drive a front load Redi-mix truck and pour concrete , and one of the contractors we poured for all the time gave me this nick name, because everytime I was laying down the mud my tongue would come out and he would start laughing and there came this nickname Touguewagler. Got call it everyday after that and kinda liked it. So when it came to a screen name thought it sounded like a good one. But it could have been a nickname from an old girlfriend or my wife. Later

Redwings, I was hoping it was because you are a Detroit hockey team fan.

Primarily for the boys from Hockeytown.
When I used to game a lot (COD On-line, I have some skillz) RedWings was one of the names I used. Often I was put in charge of our clan. So the name changed to "RedWings - Commander". This always got lots of lulz. So many people would ask about it that I made up a story; one that got put into the Urban Dictionary by another gamer (you'll have to look it up yourself).
Earned mine at 17

Chicago-Spike
08-09-2009, 02:09 PM
Spike = From my first Lt at the firehouse. Went and saw Rocky 4 at the show. A few months later was dropping my girlfriend(now wife ) off at work and said I was going to get my haircut like Ivan Draggo. She laughed and said "Right, I dare you to". At that time, I had the typical 80's hair shoulder length and feathered back at the sides. Walked into the firehouse and with the hair moused up to points, my Lt said "Nice haircut Spike" That's all it took, although once when I cut racing stripes into the sides I went to Stripe. But the Chief said "No more Stripes".
Came on the VTXOA on the first go 'raound and was just "Spike". Then they went to a new server and I tried to sign up and found someone stole Spike from under me. So, Chicago was added ;)

Thebigdaddy
08-11-2009, 06:07 AM
I'm a big guy 6'-8" and 295lbs. In 2001 I was 320lbs and during a bench press competition my daughter was screeming "Go Daddy" and one of the judges said "that is a big daddy". So when he when to write the score in the cards he asked "What is the bigdaddy's name?". At that point my daughter said "Dad they called you Thebigdaddy".

BadMoon

Moon is my middle name. While I lived in Germany I had to keep my bike at a friends house as it was not allowed on base and I did not want it left out in the weather. On Fridays I would walk to my Friends house usually carrying a bottle of Jack Daniels. Wally my friend would see me from his balcony and start singing. "I see that Bad Moon Rising" from CCR. That was a long time ago and I have used it ever since.
Peace.
