I have two miniture schnazers. The dog with the human brain. One of mine watches TV and reacts to animals on the screen. She even comes and watches when she hears certain commercials.
I feel your loss Bro. It will be a sad day in this home when they go.

There is a pet heaven... and she'll be waiting for you. Until then. she'll run and play and keep in shape so she can jump all over you and tell you how much she's missed you when you get there.

Sorry for your loss brother, our oldest is 11.5 now and I've been thinking about that day for the last year( I shouldn't dwell but I can't seem to help it) I'm not going to cope very well I'm sure. You can't beat the friendship you get from dogs, we just love dogs period even the ugly ones :D.

Best to you!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sorry to hear about your loss. But if it may make you laugh a little. I had a pair of road king saddle bags listed on here for sale. Well I had a member hunt4horns, that said he wanted them Sunday. Well this morning I got up & went down to my shop where I had let my dog stay in for the night due to weather & what in the heck do you think I found. Them road king bags were knock off my work bench & 1 of them he had used as a bone. Most of the leather gone. Yep I was pissed but what could I do, nothing cause he is my best bud. Scolded him a little & he ducked his head, cause he knew then he had done something wrong. He just was doing what came natural I reckon, chewing on something. Soon as I set down he jumped right in my lap & well you know I couldn't be pissed anymore. Heck his companionship is worth far more than them saddle bags. So cherish the memories of him & go get you another dog & soon you will be best buds with him too. TR.

I had to have my best buddy put down in 2005...he was a miniature Schnauzer, age 11, and he had liver cancer. I still miss him to this day. He was the best dog ever, and I've not found another one...but I will see him again one day! Some people say that dogs don't have souls...but I can't believe that God would create such love between man and dog for it to end in death. I believe that dogs are God's perfect example of how we should love each other...all except for the butt sniffing, of course. 8)

That really does SUCK!! I have bred and raised my pits since 1986 but' because of the way the gen. public takes care of them I have decided not to breed anymore. Man has it been hard watching them drop like flies of old age.I lost both my house dogs in a span of 6 months. Toots was 15yrs 8mths old and my Willy had just turned 9 his kidneys shut down for no good reason.Vet said they have been seeing a lot of that around that age.It was all I could do to carry my little buddy in the vets office so weak he could hardly walk.I stayed there with him until it was over.Just could not talk. I did tell me vet this crap is getting very hard to take.He said I know Ed you have had to go thru a lot of it this past yr. Ed don't you worry we will cremate him for you.Don't you worry about the bill. You just go out the back door. I went out the back door composed my self.Went back in the front door and got it payed. Cried all the way home. We have had dogs in our home for the past 23yrs. We swore we was done.Because it is just to hard.Well that didn't last long. Got a call from Detr. Mich. turns out Willy JR. his 2 yr old son that looks and acts identical had got in some trouble over 4 girls in heat and was getting kicked out of the house.Drove all day and all night that wk. end. Picked up Willy Jr. aka Tug and brought him home.Almost like Willy never left us.The photos are the one on the porch is Willy Sr. and the one on the chain is Willy JR.

My heart & soul ache for your loss. I had to put my beloved Marlin down March 14; he was my everything for 11 1/2 years. I'm keeping you in my thoughts & prayers. I'd like to include some poems that will choke you but on down the road perhaps you can get as much comfort from them as I did.

I'm not there

I'm not there with you today
But know I haven't gone astray
I am the wind blowing through your hair
And the warmth you feel in the air
When that smile creeps on your face
Remember that I'm in a better place
When your feeling sad and down
Recall memories of me running around
You don't need to look low & high
Just search way deep inside
And know that we'll never be apart
For I've left my pawprints in your heart

The Wait Beside the Gate
It has been said that just this side of Heaven's gate there is a beautiful meadow of lush green grass. Warm sunshine casts poofs of shade beneath the blossoming Dogwood trees, and gentle breezes carry all the fragrances of springtime. To this very meadow every beloved pet goes when it dies.
Here old pets happily find themselves young again. Pets who were sick or maimed are completely well and whole. An abundance of delicious food, a sparkling brook of cool water, and favorite playthings are always near at hand. A wonderful place is this, where they can play all day.
Something is missing, though. Or rather, someone is missing. You see, each one misses that special person who loved them, the one they loved so much. But in the very same way they knew that special one would return at the end of each day, they know to wait beside the gate. In the meantime, they merrily run and romp and wrestle and play.
And then it happens, and one day the breeze carries a different, well-remembered scent. In the middle of romping and playing, or even while napping in the shade, a nose begins to twitch. A tail begins to wag and ears perk up as eager eyes quickly find the source of that special scent. Four feet begin running and quickly separate that one from all the rest. The waiting is over! You are finally coming!
Joyfully, there beside the gate, you and your special pet meet again. Hugs and kisses and licks and love meet in one big happy embrace. You both celebrate as you hug the neck and stroke the sides of your beloved pet. Once again you hold that special face and look deeply into those trusting, loving eyes. And then, side by side you go through the gate, never to be separated again.
Finally, the wait beside the gate is over.

Beyond The Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free.
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Where meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.
