Les Paul is of paramount importance to rock & roll as the creator of the solid-body electric guitar and as a pioneer in modern recording techniques such as electronic echo and studio multitracking.

The guitar was traditionally a "primitive" folk instrument ...

rock and roll is a uniquely American "folk" art form ... that is deeply enmeshed in out daily life ...

Les Paul most certainly had a big part in America's destiny ...

Les Paul was a great innovator. Taking nothing away from him, I for one, prefer the early Dylan.........acoustic.
