Rochester area riders

Will be home ~6 Sep for leave... Any VTX'ers wanna get together for a ride that would be cool. Mabey head down to the dinosaur for some BBQ and some Suds. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. I'm going to freeze my ass off as it's ~115 during the day here!!!

I am relocating to Fairport NY on October 4, 2004. I have a 2004 1300R that I love..... Can you guys tell me if there are any runs locally that are offered? Keep me in mind when you ride. I would love to come along.

Any and all rides in the next few weeks would be great. Or even just to the dinosaur for a pulled pork sandwich.(we ain't got much time left) I Just got out of Strong hospital, had an emergency appendectomy 2 weeks ago and was sick for quite a while before that. So my ridin time this summer was restricted for more reasons than just the crappy weather we've had. I have a bunch of guys I normally ride with but no one else has the X and I'd love to meet some local guys that do. I ride with friends of ours,my wife rides a 1100 vstar,and we we ride whenever the weather is right and the jobs at home or work are not interfering. They have yamahas and I would love to ride with some x's or if any x's want to ride with us.

Anyone wish to have a VTX trip up to Americade this year? I am planning on going up Sunday morning and coming back Monday night. Looking forward to test driving the VTX 1800 (I have a 1300) and having a nice trip there and back.

For all of us in the Rochester area: The group of VTX riders in the Buffalo area have voiced an interest in having a get together meet and greet night. So here is your chance for suggestions on, time, place, and nights. Remember they have to ride out from as far away as the falls so lets find something in the middle if possible. Good weather is at our door step, so lets get riding. Also they have invited us to join them at anytime in the Buffalo area. No need to ride alone, so it doesn't matter what you ride as long as you are riding, call or email friends....mike P.S. remember the Friday the 13th of May Port Dover Ontario ride(see thread on NY board)...

Keep in mind that the HK's on twisteds 1300 will sound extremely different than HK's on a 1800. The 1300 is single pin crank and the 1800 is dual pin.... While dual pin is better for power curve and vibration, the single pin is better on quality of V-Twin exaust note.

Hey mike, bikes been down with a rear tire flat. Went down on me on 104 at about 70 mph. 6 " nail right up through the tire and tube. The ride for the Eagles is a veterns memoral day ride from Ontario Ames plaza to the state beaches over near Hamlin. Last year there was about 400 bikes and the police gave us escorts the whole way. I'm not sure what time we are meeting but I think registration is 11:00 am. I will get more info and post it....mike

OK heres more info on sundays ride. They move the meeting place to Traders market place 350 and 104. The registration starts at 9:00am and the ride takes off at 11:ooam. Let me know if your going and I'll look for you...mike

Hey there twistedX, Nice ride yesterday Mike, sorry I had to pull out before the end, but I only get my son on weekends and I really didn't have time to make other arrangements, as I only found out about the ride about midnight the night before. It was a pleasure to meet your friends and family. Take care, keep the shiny side up. Hope to see ya again soon, maybe next time I can find out earlier and plan it out a little better. TIM

P.S. Man that bike of yours sure looks nice ridin down the road, really like the graphics, I noticed more than a few people taking pictures of it, like the exhaust note of the pipes you've got on there too.

Hey Tim, had a great time Sunday. Funny thing is you pulled off at the right time. When we crossed into Hamlin it started to rain on and off on us. It wasn't much but enough to get the bike all crappy. Thanks for the comments on the grafics. I'm my biggest critic and am glad people like them. I see all the little imperfection that others don't. I think people were equally impressed by your sharp paint job. Gotta show that pride. There were alot more VTX's there than are on the Rochester board. I wonder how we can get the word out . I'm planning on starting to go to the log cabin on Wednesday night so give me a shout...mike

VTX riders... Some guys are meeting at the Mulberry Street bar on Lee Road in Rochester at 7:00 pm. They have a steak (Frank's Steak Out night) and then ride around town. I'll be there. All welcome.

If I remember correctly Lee Rd is actually in Chili. Runs north off of Lyell Just before 390 as your heading west out of the city. Should be real easy to find. I'd be in for a steak and a ride. Tim

Lyell Rd off of 390 is definitely the way to go. It's Gates I believe. I'm coming in from West Chili with my wife on her HD.

Tonight's ride (7/14/05) has been changed from Mulberry St on Lee Rd to Tim Horton's at the corner of Ridge Rd and Goodman St in Irondequoit. Bunch of riders meeting and riding to a place called Creekside in Rush (?). Supposed to be a lot of bikes there tonight. All welcome!
