I have a New never used Hyper Speed Programer for VTX 1800 C and R Models. The Box states it is for a Califorina Model, BUT I have been told by fellow members that it is for Non-CA models!

Asking $150.00!

Do you know for sure if this fits a non-CA system?

I have talked to two different fellow Xer's ad they both said it is not for a CA bike. There are No Bungs for this unit, thus not a CA model.

Kevin I have 2 questions.
1.) Will it work on an F model? Since it will work on a C model I'm thinking it might work on an F unless there are some differences in the ECM module. :dontknow:

2.) How is this different from a PCIII? Pros & Cons.

Sorry, I really do not know on #1 and as for #2, there are NO mapping, its a Plug -n- play unit.

This was my best investment. I never had a fouler, but the bike seemed to want more. I had a PC3 which was good but this is better. I have smooth power, better gas mileage, and installation was easy. The only time consuming part was drilling the bung hole out on my then, Samson Pipes

....Hmmm, with this thing, you have to DRILL :yikes: out a hole in yer exhaust pipes??? I do like the plug-n-play concept though! ...but NOT the drillin into yer exhaust part!

OK, what I know is the BOX says it is a Cali Model, BUT I was told by a fellow Xer that is was a NON-Cali model becuase it does not have the 02 sensors.

It is a Plug -n- Play unit, just plug it in to your stock ecm and go.

LMK if U want it..

Here is what Kevin and I decifered. Kevins picture is of the unit which he is selling and DOES NOT have an O2 sensor. The product discription in the later post that is from Cruiser Customizing does show a O2 sensor. Kevin is just using this as a refference for info and Reviews.

So the item he is selling is for the 49 state X's not the CA bike unless it is hooked up with out utilizing the O2 sensor. My thought is the CA bike has a ECU computer which has mapping for a O2 sensor so this unit will not give a CA bike all the benifits as it would a 49 state X.

Just trying to help Kevin, Rob

I't's for bikes that have o2 sensors, I had one on my CA bike. It did not come with 02 sensors.

I'm pretty sure that this unit is for CA bikes. CA bikes came stock with a O2 sensor in the exhaust and the Hyperspeed used it thru the ECU to take readings. 49 state models like mine did not have a sensor in the exhaust so that's why they included a sensor and a bung adapter that you welded on your stock or after market pipes that didn't come with a bung hole. The picture from CC is of a 49 state model with O2 sensor and matches mine exactly.

If you're not sure which model you have look under your seat and you'll see on the rear fender are labels which designate the bike as 49 or CA model. If you don't want to take off the seat, look underneath the bike for an EVAP cannister underneath the swingarm between the swingarm rocker panels. 49 state models don't have it.

ThankX! Thats what I tried, (To No Ivale) to say before but was told I was wrong. The Box dopes state CA Bikes. I said if U have a CA bike then U already have a 02 and this reads off your stock ecm..

I am not an expert with these type of things, just trying to get good info.
