Some one was telling me that motorcycles are restricted from LSD. Can anyone confirm or hopefully dispell that dispicable rumor. I enjoy riding that a couple of times a year early in the morning before it gets nuts. beautiful way to enjoy the lake and the city.

How do you end up on a state board so far from your own?

The only restriction I know of is for B plate vehicles on boulevards and drives. Can't drive my pickup on LSD.:-(

I know that when Burt Natarus was alderman In downtown Chicago he introduced a bill banning motorcycles because he stated caused too much noise polution, but the bill failed. He was however successful in banning b truck plates including pickup trucks. That man was a pain in the arse! I'm glad he is gone!!!

No motorcycle restrictions on LSD.
We ride on it at least once a week.

B plates however are another story........

Yeah, Mayor Dailey tried that a few years ago. He actually had the ban in place for about 6 weeks and was ticketing all bikes that ran on Lake Shore Drive. The AMA, American Motorcyclists Association, heard of this and immediately started legal hearings with Dailey and the Feds. Once Dailey found out that if he wanted to impose his wrath on a federally funded highway he would loose his federal money for the upkeep of all federal highways in Cook County, he recinded that law REAL QUICK!!

So, it is safe to ride on Lake Shore Drive and will be for a loooong time

I have B plates on my truck, and get on LSD all the time..
Never been pulled over, and I see a lot of B plate vehicles, like tradesmen,
also driving on it...
Chicago cops are pretty lenient about a lot of things involving traffic...

Thank's Mark, that song and those pictures bring back many fond memories of the lake front and riding that road (and no, not those real old pictures either:-?).

I am glad to hear such a ridiculous rule isnt in place. I really enjoy that ride. We should plan an early morning ride if anyone interested.

Nah, that's me cruzin' at 70-80 mph last year with a displacement-challenged 1300.... you can see the cop just sat there and didn't bother to do anything. This was last year.
