A short while ago I posted a message looking for a mechanic who could help me with a pair valve removal. VTXROSA responded with an offer of help.
Today he drove about 60 or 70 miles to my home with a pair of block off plates he made, did the pair valve removal, adjusted my valves, replaced the crush gaskets and installed the external A/F adjsting screw from Glen's VTX Garage.
His work was top notch and very professional. It was clear he knew what he was doing.
I'm almost ashamed to tell you what he charged as it was VERY reasonable, far less then what it would have cost at a dealer with me taking the bike to them.
I just got back from a 100+ mile test ride. Not a single hint of a pop on decel or a backfire. The bike ran and sounded great ! ! !
THANKS Bob ! ! ! ! You are a true gentleman and scholar.

Well since we are giving kudos to Bob I will add that a while back he did me a solid too....but not with the bike...with my wife's Avalanche. To make a long story short, the local dealer was poised to give me a high hard one to the tune of about $1500 bucks. Checked with Bob (he's a mechanic for a Chevy dealer) and not only determined that I was getting a line of BS from the local dealer but he took care of my issue for about 1/5th of the cost including passing on his dealer cost for the part I needed.
It's great to know that there are still some genuinely nice (and honest) people out there and some are even right on this forum!

You did great work on my pipes and only charged for the tool. I haven't been able to ride much and enjoy the new sound, but the mod makes the bike that much more awesome. Thanks.
Not to take away from VTXRosa though. BTW Bob, I will be buying a new Chevy next month. I guess I could check with you in the future if I have repair questions or whatnot? Thanks.:doorag:

That good to hear. Alot of people have gave up on GM. In the past 2 months things have been alot better than the past 2-3 yrs. What are you buying? Something for the family.....? I hope everything is doing great with you.

The new Equinox LTZ AWD. We already have a family vehicle in the Dodge Journey that my wife drives. It was time for me to get a new vehicle and with the commute I do to work, I wanted something nice and convenient. Plus I am one of four carpoolers, so I have to keep 3 other big guys in mind when I make the purchase. So the Equinox it is. Hope I made the right choice.8)
I haven't been able to ride in a little while. Still getting the baby room done.

I've had some private emails from lerkers out there who read this board but do not post. If there is anyone else in the Reading/Berks or surrounding area who want to hear what Cobra slashcuts sound like on a 2005 1300R just let me know and we'll hook up.
Another 100+ mile day and not a pop or backfire.
THANKS again Vtxrosa (Bob) ! ! ! ! ! !

I actually don't have a problem paying someone who helps me do the mods. If I go to the dealer I'll never see what they are doing, and therefore never learn anything. Eventually I want to do more and more of my own work, but I lack the knowledge and tools.
