Hi,
STEELHOGG here out of Decatur Iilinois and I am looking for other other Patriot Guard Riders from this region. I just got a short notice for a mission on Monday the 28th and I was wondering if any were going to attend.
I am going to try my best to get out of work for a half day to make this ride.

Take care and thanks ahead of time.

I'm a Patriot Guard but getting off work on short notice doesn't happen so i don't make many missions.

I don't either as a rule of thumb but work has finally slowed enough finally that I am going to take a few half day vacations to catch up on some rides. Been on a dozen or so since I joined a year ago. Always good to meet another PGR member

For those not sure of what the Patriot Guard Riders is about..go here..

http://patriotguard.org/Home/tabid/53/Default.aspx

ive never been in the forces, but i support our brothers and sisters 100%
and there family,s in times of need, and cheer..

if you have not been to a mission..make yourself a point to do so!!

it will be for a fallen soldier coming home,a street renaming for that soldiers honor,or a soldier coming home alive and well!!!

there are radical groups out there that have been protesting militery burials at cemetery's!!! these families need the respect, cirtusy, and privacy without these wacko's around..so the pgr was born..in the past 3 years i think ..it has grown tramendusly..read about it at there site..

It is most rewarding to me to give back support for our soldiers fighting for our freedom....

Great post vtxbronco and for all of you Illinois riders that may be intersted as well, here is the Illinois chapters link:
http://www.ilpatriotguard.com/

Just click on the left side after opening and look at the events calander and you can see the specific mission assignmennts as they are posted. They are also color coded so you can tell if it is for a funeral, send off , homecoming or other. The last mission I rode was on 9-11 where we escorted some troops home to Champaign, Mattoon and Sullivan. We even had non PGR members riding with us on this day and there were several that said they were going to be joining after they got a taste of this awesome brotherhood. You also dont have to ride a motorcycle either, there are members that drive their cages to these events and they are equally welcomed.

I am a PGR member and active duty Army Soldier stationed in Champaign at the U of I Armory (ROTC). I rode several missions, from escorting the 33rd BCT off on their deployment, to welcoming them home. We also were there when they raised the walls for a home built for SGT Cameron Crouch in Mahomet.
I try and make as many as I can, so long as the boss dont mind me cutting out!

I ride an 07 VTX 1800T and I usually wear my ARMY black leather jacket, and sometimes an orange reflective vest. I look forward to meeting some of you at the next PGR mission.

Thank you for your service brother. I think I may have seen you on the welcome home ride, Is that the one that was on 9-11 this year? Thats the one I rode in. We met the busses at the Hen House in Mahomet. Should be a mission coming up here in the next few days for a KIA soldier from Rantoul. I caught it on the news tonight but no mission notice as of yet. Have you been to the Illinois PGR forums?

I'm a member, but haven't made any rides- didn't have my bike running at all last year. Hope to correct that this summer- though getting time off at work is always a challenge for me.

I'll have 20 years reserve/guard service come mid-April. Two to go and then I'm out.

I'm a member... have been on several missions in the St. Louis area. One of the most memorable and humbling things I've ever done. I used to get to all the local missions, work hasn't allowed me to get to them lately, being new at a job doesn't allow you much wiggle room.
