i hate to sell her but i just dont drive it that much anymore and need the insurance money im spending on it to feed the family... sad day but im getting out of motorcycles for now.

$7500

the facts:
2003 Honda VTX 1800C
1795cc fuel injected V-twin engine
about 5700 miles on the odometer (currently under 6K)

-custom exhaust by vtxexhaust.com shortened to flush with rear tire and gutted
-cobra driving lights
-highway bars
-honda backrest/sissy bar for back seat
-garage kept last 3 years, before that had a bike cover on it at all times when i wasnt riding it

just got an oil change for it two weeks ago, the front tire is less than a year old (still has some hairs) rear tire is in great shape (replaced a few years ago)

here are some pictures i took last year around july 4th weekend... the sissy bar and back seat are off in these pictures (how i rode with it for the last couple years) but the back seat and sissy bar are back on it currently to sale it with all accessories. (see last pic, cell phone quality sorry)

It isnt that your new here, your price is a lil high considering what others are asking for bikes. It is def a buyers market with the economy the way it is and the time of the year. It is a sweet looking bike but you will be lucky to get 5000 out of it this time of year. If you can hold off til spring it will bring closer to what you are asking...

i was going off of what i saw on cycle trader and around the internet for asking prices... didnt realize i was so high...

a brand new one for 7400?? you kidding me.... is that because its new and 2 years old already?? must be a good deal the dealership is having... a new 09 is MSRP 13,600

i understand its not the right time of the year but i had to hold out till the trail of tears ride because it was to be my last ride with my dad...

i guess ill just hold on to it and keep it up for sale till the time is right...

There's no such thing as an '09 model, nor is there an '08 model for that matter. Honda hasn't produced the 1800 for about 18 mos now and they shuttered the plant in Ohio where they were mfd.

Where is your bike located, ESOS252?

i only assumed 09 because honda still has them on their motorsports website... but i just checked it again and they dont say when they were made or what year they are heh

the bike is located in Cleveland, TN

Honda has really hurt the used 1800 market with the discounted 07's. It truly is a buyers market right now. Hope you do OK on the sale.

The VTX was made in '08 and there are plenty available at the dealers. There aren't any for '09.

You ain't gonna' do much better in this market. I'd counteroffer at $6250 and call it a day one way or the other. Good luck! I hope it sells.

Depends on how much you need the money and if you want to risk waiting on a better offer this time of the year and in this market. It is a pretty fair offer IMO.

thanks guys, i think i might counter with the 6250 and feel him out... i need to get as much out of it as possible but i dont want to wait till next summer to get it either... im also thinking in this market at this time of year that i dont have alot of choice in the matter... we'll see i guess.

Dude, I've been in sales and marketing all my life. Just say "Sixty-two fifty and we have a done deal" to him and then do not say a word until he replies. This is not about "feeling him out, at least you don't him to think so. Just wait for his answer before you speak again. Usually the first one to speak loses. If he says no, tell him that you'd hate to see him lose the bike over a measly $150 and, again, let him do the talking. If he sticks to his guns you either tell him you'll think on it overnight - he may call you back over fear of losing the deal or let it go for the $6100 he offered.

so its been two weeks since the guy offered and wanted to meet up and i still havent heard from him to meet up and his phone voicemail is full so i cant leave a message.

i dont understand it. he makes an offer, wants to meet up, then never calls me? i understand if you get busy with work or whatever and cant end up meeting for a week or so but two weeks and no contact after he offered to buy it...

still for sale.
