And in a place you'd not expect them. This last Sunday the weather was awesome , so the better half & I went for a nice ride up the Beeline (87). On the way back to town we decided to run along the Salt River back to Power Rd. Made it to the 4 way stop sign at Usery Pass Rd. Continued along Bush Hwy west and we're tooling along at about 60mph and out of nowhere comes a stampeding heard of horses !! They were coming up from the river around Coons Bluff and were heading up the mountain. There are no fences along that stretch of road on either side. I did everything I could do to bring the bike to a safe stop (rear locked for a bit) and came to a stop about 10 ft. from the heard crossing the road. There were about 20 or so of them all in single file and they were moving !!! If we had been apprx. 2 seconds sooner it would have ended up badly !!

I have traveled this road hundreds of times and have never seen anything like this before. I always try to keep an eye open for the occasional squirrel, skunk, racoon, coyote etc. but I never saw this one coming. Best I can tell they must have been from the reservation and crossed the river from the north and were running loose. Just a reminder for anyone traveling that stretch of road BE CAREFULL !!!!

Never seen any there either. There's some on Hunt Hwy between Magic Ranch and Florence. Almost got one of those in the truck.
