RG,
I've got a new Ultimate seat on my 1300c. You're welcome to sit on it and see what you think.
I also know of at least one new Mustang seat on an X here in Paducah.

Hi RG, I am not going to be much help here, but, my hubby has a mustang seat on his 1800 retro. He and I just completed an 18 day trip. We logged about 7,150 miles. He did not complain at all about his rump. He is 6' 5" and about 250 lbs. I still have my stock seat on my 1300 retro. I have no complaints about my bike seat, or my rump. No monkey butt here.

RG,
I have Mustang seats on my 02 Retro without a doubt the BEST money I have spent on my bike in accesories. Second is the highway bars with foot pegs.Hope this helps

I love the stock seat on my '04 1300. All the miles I just did and no Monkey Butt! Now I do wish I had a bckrest like on the Mustang seats. But I did have a dufflebag back rest on my trip. That was a nice cushion for the back.

rocketman..............
do you have a model number for the mustang seat you ordered ? I sat on one Saturday and it felt great. I would like to sit on a Ultimate seat though, before I decide which is best for me. I cant seem to find a comfortable position on the stock seat.
Id like to set "lower" and more forward.............did the Mustang do this for you?

GreyDog,
I think it's generally accepted that both seats are great. Personally I wouldn't buy either until I sat on both. In my case I sat on a Corbin as well.
I ended up buying the Ultimate because, for me, it felt more comfortable. Most people say the Ultimate does move you forward about an inch. I could not tell that though. I also liked the bigger look of the Ultimate.
It's all purely a matter of personal taste.
