Greetings, And I will apologize ahead of time if there is already a posting/ answer on this topic. I have a 2002 VTX 1800 and plan on putting a battery tender on for the winter. However, I'm not sure if I need to take off the seat in order to gain full access to the battery. Can someone advise if I only need to pull the left side cover to make this work or will the seat need to come off? Thanks! Chris

Thanks for the info... Now my second question.... How do I remove a stock seat? I removed the screw attached to the rear fender, but the seat is still attached and I cannot see any other screws to remove... Any help with this matter would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris

The seat does not come off. It is superglued on for the safety of you and your passenger:lol:
Seriously though, have you tried lifting the bike up, turning it upside down and shaking it?

I tipped the bike upside down and the seat stayed on.... Now my bike is trashed... Thanks anyway... I guess I'll just return my battery tender!!! No other help as of yet!
