I think a tech session is an awesome idea. Kevin and I talked about this on Saturday and he has graciously offered to host the tech session. :D I know, the words gracious and Kevin in the same sentence is an oxymoron :D .

Let us know when you are available and what you would like to accomplish and lets get this thing rolling. FYI, Kevin is located in Eustis and has a 1500sq ft garage so space is not a problem.

Good Idea! I currently have my Retro's front-end torn down for chroming. I would be happy to bring any major assemblies for show and tell. I need to tear down the reservoirs, that could be a project. I also ordered the special locknut wrench for dis-assembly of the left fork. That might be interesting too! Also, I'm replacing the front springs.

I have the calipers torn down and as soon as the chrome parts come back, I could use some pointers re-installing the seals and cylinders.

ps: Keep in mind Sunday football is coming up. Maybe mornings would be best!

Kevin,
I would be interested as well.
Sunday would be the best time for me. I think I've got my little scooter where I want it, but I'd like to hear more ideas. Keep us posted.

I ordered the "Special Tool" for the left fork's lock nut Monday. Hope to have this weekend in time for Francis! I ordered the tool after taking the fork to Performance Honda this past Saturday to have the lock nut removed. I got the tube back with scratches and a deep gash in the top section. It looked like they tried to use a set of channel locks on the pipe and didn't even touch the nut at the very top of the tube. So much for their technical ability. At least they tried to polish out the marks they left on the tube. Just a waste of time after calling in advance to make sure they had the "Special Tool" to remove the nut.

Kevin,
I would be forever grateful if we could use my bike for the tech session . I just got my HyperCharger, PowerCommander III, and LED SparkPlug Covers. On top of that, I would like to drill out my exhaust and do the DeSmog.
I was wanting to do all of that at the same time. Because if I'm going to put the PCIII on there, I might as well do the exhaust at the same time I do the HyperCharger. And if I'm in there doin the HyperCharger, I might as well do the DeSmog.
I've never worked on bikes before besides changing my oil . Definatly keep me informed. That would be awesome if we could use my bike, afterall its completely stock and is in more need of mods than anyone else

Alright, Sounds like we have a Tech Session rolling

Lets get a Date Planned :D :D
If you guys get this together and would not mind a rider from the north(Fla) let me know your plans. You might put this on the North Fla riders board. We are always looking for somewhere to go. I also would like to learn the interest level in getting a Fla X riders patch put together for sale to all fla riders. Something really sharp for a vest, jacket or cap.

Yeah, as far as the storm goes....it looks like right now Orlando will get the same results as Charley. It will be a category 2 when it gets here. I was extremely lucky last time and did not lose power. I do not work on weekends, so Sundays are good for me.

I am willing to learn and have a lift, a manual and some tools but a wrench I'm not.
I can however, bust a knuckle with the best of'em.
I bet I could get Dave Bynum to trailer down w/ me. I would like to de-smog and do a valve adjust if there is anyone with that type of knowledge to share. Plus, I'd like to meet you guy's. A Sunday is good for me. Try to remember us on the N. fla board as I'm not in the habit of checking here.
Thanks for the invite Kevin

Well, I wanted to do the DeSmog, HyperCharger, and PCIII all in the same day, but now I'm being told not to do any of that unless I get exhaust. That'd probably be too much to do in one day.
Here is what I'm refering to...

Would love to attend any day. After the hurricane would be best. If no one else will suggest a date I will. Next sunday, Sept 12- mid morning. I am a mechanic by trade and have done a pretty good bit of work on bikes. (Could also show you the basics of painting). Let us know

Thanks

Yeah, the 12th is good for me provided that Ivan changes his course.
Right now the 5 day only brings us to Saturday, but as of today Sunday doesn't look too promising.
