:D All I can say is what a great bunch. It was a pleasure to get to met and visit with all of you today. A Big Thank you to Sarecrow for helping to put this ride together and all of you who took a chance on the weather and showed up. You do meet the niceist people on a Honda. We had a big group make the run up to Council Grove for lunch at the Hay's House. The weather was shaky at best Scarecrow was headed into the thick of it on his way back to Wilson. If I recall there were 13 people that showed up, Big Meyer and Sue, Kansas and Pattie, Scarecrow and his friend John from Wichita, JayhawkX, Green, Otcpham amd a few more who's name I can't remember ( please forgive me I'm old ) oh and my wife who rode through several downpours on the way home and never complained once. Hope we can do it again real soon it was a good day!

I wish I would have remembered that you all were gonna meet outside of town, I saw a bunch of X's but their owners were elsewhere. It would have been nice to put a face with a bike, but thats my own fault. I had read about it, just forgot about it. Maybe next time.. Have a great day, hope ya all made it home safely, I went straight north from Council Grove to Manhattan at a good clip, and just when we pulled into town it started pouring. Have a great day!

I completely agree with Charlie. We had a great time meeting all of you. Patty and I had a super day. We got soaked heading home but, even that didn't wash the smiles off. It was nice seeing a "group" of Xs come together. For those who weren't there, we definitely had the attention of the masses. I want to find the guy that had his X on the dyno truck and see what it tested. A big thanks to Charlie and Scarecrow for setting this up. Maybe we can have even more folks join us next time.

Well, Sue and I made it to Emporia and just as we were checking it, MOTHER NATURE thought we needed a shower and covered us with a good downpour....lol We got soaked. I was thinking of you all and hoping you all made it back OK. We had a nice stay in the Candlewood Suites in Emporia and got to relax some. It was great meeting you all and Sue and I had a great time. I am looking forward to meeting up with the group again soon. We should take more pictures though, so we can post them on here or a link that we could go to. We have a couple and will get them downloaded tonight. Did anyone else get sunburned, I am a freakin' tomato!!! later.....T

We luckily didn't get rained on at all on the way home! It followed us the whole way though. It was a great time!
I saw one VTX on the dyno, it looked nearly brand new. It even still had the warning sticker on the tank. If I remember right he ran 89 hp and I'm not for sure on torque but it was somewhere in the low 100's. Should have put my dads up there, but the last time we ran it (before johnny cheese's map) it ran 106hp and 120tq, not too shabby! Especially considering the modified Harley we saw dyno 78 tq....hehehe[/quote]

To all,
It was a great run and a magnificent weekend. Kudos for all that made it. I really enjoyed putting names, faces, and bikes to the board "handles".
Charlie, sorry I cut out early, but we did see each other at the Hays House. My plan was to get to at least to Junction City befroe the rain hit. I almost made it, but got caught three miles out. But after that shower, it was clear the rest of the way.
But, no rest for the weary, as the Bikers for Babies run is this weekend. I'll see more of the KC gang and maybe some of you from Cassoday. It promises to be a big event and hopefully, well represented by VTX riders.
I'll try and post some pics of Cassoday later this week.

8) Glad you made it through in good shape it sure looked bad the way you were headed. I can't make the bikers for babies run as I have a CMA event I need to attend at Cedarvale KS this weekend. I promised my good friend of 35 years I will be there. I do hope I can make another run and meet more of the riders from up north before the snow starts.
:o Saw a red Retro at Cassody that had Beetle Bags and what looked like Kury pegs and stems for the passenger. Would like more info on the peg set up if possible. :)

cc,
I missed the BFB Rally also, due to some last minute conflicts. Are there any more sizable runs in the area this year? I have commitments for the next two weekends, but I should be free after that.

There are no big runs coming up that I'm aware of. I got a CMA bikers weekend to go to week after next. ( it small compaired to Cassoday) I plan on riding to all the CMA events I can before the fall turn-around projects starts in mid-oct. after that I'll be working 12 to14 hrs a day until early nov. I will keep my eyes and ears open if something comes up I'll post it. cc

I will probably do as many Toy Runs in this area as I can and do the cassoday thing until season end, then start fresh next season....I have a ton of "honey do's" I need to get done. But I will be out and about as much as I can. It would be good to get together one or two more times this year though. The Cassoday, Council Grove Run was really fun and we enjoyed it. Later fella's, look out for the 4 wheeled idiots!!!!!

We had a blast as well and will likely do Cassody again. But, right now....the sun is out, no wind, my bike's in the parking lot, and I'm stuck here inside the "bomber factory". It's just WRONG!!!

cc,
If the weather is nice and I can fit it in, I'll try and make it again too. And, if I can get a baby sitter, I may finally get the wife to attend.

Scarcrow, think "bungee cords". Having previously dealt with "babysitter aged" children I have found bungee cords and duct tape have multiple uses :)

:D Man it would be great if we can do it again! I'll bet we can get even more X'ers to ride up next month. I know Judy and I are up for it.

Hey, count me in. I would like to also go if weather is nice. That is if you all don't mind a unknown rider going with you all. I don't like riding with people I do not know well, we all know all it takes is one idiot to start an incident. I am not one to hot dog or ride like I stole it. I think we averaged 65 all the way there and back last time. My buddies have to work next Sunday morning. Luckily I now work 2nd shift on the weekends too, so I can go. Seems like our National Guard drill always falls on the 1st weekend of the month. My buddies wifes parents live on the main intersection of cassody and have the BIG BBQ sandwich stand. She may go with me just to see her mom and dad. We will see. Unless we can also get a sitter, then my biker babe can go too. Let me know where and when to meet up.

8) You are welcome to ride along with us anytime. Last month we meet up with some of the Wichita riders at micky D's at Augusta for breakfast and then rode up to Cassoday together. I'll start a new post so we can get plans made for meeting along the way.
