Hello everyone... well, I've been hemming and hawing for the last six months and have finally decided to take the plunge and buy a VTX 1800c. I've been checking the local bike shops (wow motorcycles, Motions, cycletrader.com) and it seems that the 1800's are hard to find (go figure!).

I'm currently looking for a good deal on a used bike if anyone knows one for sale or has any good ideas of places to look! I prefer the standard style as opposed to the "retro" look, but at this point I'm not too picky... a little customization goes a long way.

Much appreciated and look forward to seeing you on the road!

You should be able to visit any stealership to find a new 1800 at a very reasonable price. I have a friend that picked up a "new" 2003R for $7349 at a local (Jonesboro) dealership. I also know that Lawrenceville and Gainesville are selling theirs very reasonably priced. Hope this helps.

Hey Donovan,

Before you buy anything, take a look at www.southernhonda.com (http://www.southernhonda.com) up in Chatanooga. It might be worth the drive up there. I've heard from several folks that these prices are for real and walk out the door with it prices.

Good luck...don't buy anything from Motions. I'm not a fan of that place.

Thanks for the tips... I'll check out Southern Honda for sure. Best deal I've found so far is an '03 for $6500 from a guy whom I think used to own Roswell Fun Machines (just guessing at that).

Hey Donovan,

Let me know if you want to make a run up there sometime. I'm at home through the week and wouldn't mind actually seeing that place in person. I've been all through their website, but never actually been to the dealership.

Will do! I'm still hoping to find a good price on a used 1800c somewhere closer to home but if I end up going new, Southern Honda seems like a great place to look.

Hell, even if I do get one locally, no reason we can't take a road trip up there to check them out anyway at some point. :)

I bought my 1800 C from Southern Honda Guy named Bill Knierim. 866-814-1111. He gave me a deal on mine. 7499.00
I am not sure if they have the deal going on still. I understood it was going off end of August. He may be able to hook you up. The VTX 1800 is definately worth the price. Its a torque beast!

Bill at Southern was my guy as well when I got my 04 1300 Retro. If you have your heart set on the 1800, I would think that $7499 price that JPVTX1800 posted is a killer deal? Put it this way... it is 350 bucks less then I paid there for my 1300!!!

JW, you should see this place... it looks like an old 60's gas station. It is a real dump (sorry guys) but the place has some great deals and they are turning out a s***load of motorcycles. I hear the story with the place is that it was a small mom and pop Honda dealership until a "fatcat" car dealer purchased the place and now he wants the biggest Honda dealership in the country. They have a building the size of a Super Wal-Mart that they are working on getting that will be full of inventory. I understand that they are going to have another place that is just a showroom with all of the models and colors to look at, then when you decide what you want they pull the crate down, put it together and off you go. volume, volume, volume

I saw one in there with a yellow paint job and a ton of aftermarket parts that the salesman told me was the owners, nice looking bike if that's the one you are talking about.

Ditto on Motions, you might want to check out WOW (World of Wheels?), 1/4 mile north of Motions on 41, tons of used inventory.
