Anyone going to Chattanooga Friday to catch the Trail of Tears Ride Saturday?
We have about 7 or 8 leaving from Huntsville with us at lunch Friday if anyone wants to tag along.

Try to hook up with the Huntsville "Redstone Riders" group, that's how they do it. Take care.

P.S. Now that I think about it, you probably are one of them! :D

A friend said he saw a huge wreck in Scottsboro during the TOT ride. Does anyone know what happened and did anyone get hurt. He said there were a lot of people with the guy at the side of the road, but the bike was in the road with no one offering to pick it up. What happened? I have seen 2 wrecks in the TOT ride myself and both of those were caused by the bikers not paying attention to where they were and running up on riders in front of them.

Anyway I hope no one got hurt. Was the time schedule screwed up or what? Our group was supposed to leave from Fort Payne at 8:00 am and ended up leaving a 7:00. DUH!!! The main group out of Chattanooga was in Scottsboro a little after 8:00. Wow. That's early.

I wish I had known. At any rate, I enjoyed watching the part I saw.

Thanks.

Don't know about the wreck (though last year, the worst one was due to a lady who'd been drinking running all over a couple of bikers); re: the time thingy, you have to remember, the start time was outta Chattanooga on E.D.S.T., Scottsboro, et al are on C.D.S.T. (one hour earlier!), so, I've learned to always ask vs. assuming when meeting up with any AL riders for any ride. JMHO.

We rode ahead of the group with what looked like a couple of thousand others but were spread far appart.
I did talk to a couple of riders who were in the pack and they said there were more wrecks this year than ever. That could just be one person's opinion though...DUNNO.
Huntsville's news said it went flawless. Maybe thay had their hands slapped for all the negative publicity from years past.

All I know is I only saw one car on it's side near the end of the trail and the rest was just a wonderful day to be alive and on a bike.
