View Full Version : Great ride-future plans
Well folks just wanted to tell all of you that did not go today you missed a great ride. :orac:
Myself, fsucivileng, fathead007 and her husband, and Roy a VTXer who drove all the way from Gainesville(directed to you guys in Georgia) to ride with us because he saw our post, went to Daytona via A1A from Jacksonville.
The weather could not have been better and the company more pleasent, and the food was good too. :eat1: I hope this is the first of many more rides :mcrider: and I do hope more will join us in the future.
I am wondering if all who read this would be interested in putting on a Bar-B-Q :chef2: so we all can all meet. :?: If you like the idea place your vote here  and lets see if we can have a roaring party. :beer2: :beer3: :pepper1:
I'll provide the place and pool and what ever. :chef3:

Great ride today and those that were not along missed a great time. It would be awesome to have another FEMALE along for the ride... the testosterone was a bit overwhelming!! Nonetheless, you guys are awesome to hang out with and I would be willing to attend a little get to know you party if you twist my arm a bit!!
So, when's the next ride and where?
Well, after riding with you all on Saturday. I finally registered on here. I need to get pictures, signatures etc. I'll find out in a minute if this is even posting in the right place. I had a great time. I thank you for your hospitality and hope we get to ride together again and soon. I know a bunch of good roads in Florida. The extra distance between Gainesville and Jax lengthens the ride a bit for someone but I'll keep an eye out for your rides. Good Time, Good Folks. Thanks.

Was a great ride, we could not have asked for better weather. Now we just need to get more people showing up, but it was a nice start.
Sorry if anyone was looking for me there in St. Augustine, was trying to tell Tim what was going on at that one light. My best friend from college lives right at that road I turned off at. If she found out I went through St. Augustine twice and did not try to call or stop by, she probably would have hunted me down and killed me. So it was in the interest of self preservation.
I hope everyone got home safely with no problems, I did not make it home until 10:30 pm.
So where are we riding next time?
Ohh, and I would be all for a barbque, parties are good.
Pegs, I come down to Gainsville a lot. I have an Aunt that lives down there and her boyfriend has 2 motorcycles and he is always looking to ride. I got some other college friends that live down there that I come down and visit a lot also. May need to hook up and do some Gainsville rides. They took me to this one restraunt in Fort white, or white springs or high springs or whatever it is. Was told they have a morotcycle night the first thursday of the month or something like that, not sure on the details, will need to get them to get me the info. It was a diner looking place, the food was ok too.

What was that rode we were on that had the HUGE puddles? I wouldn't mind trying that again when it is a little drier. :?
That restaurant was Floyds in High Springs and it's the second Thursday of every month.
The road is called "The Loop". We did the west side of the intercoastal. If we had then gone over the bridge and taken the first left at the foot of it, headed North, that would have been the other half of the loop.
I'd love to take some people on some of the good curvy roads we have down through horse country and elsewhere. We just need to make the plans.

Well, the doorbell rang this morning and guess who ......VorTeXx.
Great to put a face with a name. Had a nice visit and looking forward to meeting Jane. I spoke w/ Pam and she is excited about meeting with everyone. I guess I'll have to put the jump-seat back on now.

Floyds, yeah, thats it. Was kind of a neat place. I am supposed to run down to Gainsville in 2 or 3 weeks, maybe we can hook up.
I did not see the name of the road, but I did make sure to make mental notes of where the turn was to get on the road. I don't know what Fathead007 means by a little, but I want it a LOT drier, or if it is wet again, I will be sure to let Fathead go in front of me.
The road was 1/2 of the loop. The actual name off A1A is "HighBridge" and is probably about 5 miles south of Flagler. It's shortly after entering Ormond by the Sea and is best marked by the brown binocular and canoe and boat ramp type signs.
I believe the Tamoka river was Lake Tamoka Saturday.

Pegs,
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA! Dunno, but something about doing 65 down a street in a state park not too long after a hurricane does not exactly constitute using the total capacity of ones brain/common sense! Then again, I would say I may be lacking on both sides of that coin! But hey, at least I kept it up and didn't hit anyone!!
Thanks for the info. I will make a note of it and check it out and enjoy the scenery a bit!! LMAO!
